A variation of the game allows the hiding players to move. The object
of the game is for the hiding players to reach the home-base without being

hiders and the it has to defend the home base from the other hiders. If a
hider reaches the home base without being caught, he can free the captured
players.

2. Secondly is one of the players will be the seeker where this player is
assigned to search for the other players, but before that happens
he/she will turn to the wall or rather will face the home base where
he/she will either count to ten or one hundred (depends on the
agreement of the players) and the others will hide from him.
3. Third, the role of the other players is to hide from the seeker and
must try to reach the home base while unfound by that player.
4. Fourth, whoever is found first will be the next seeker, whoever was
found last shall be the winner of that round, winning the round also
applies to those who reached home base without being found.
5. Lastly, if the seeker found other player/s, then he/she must run to

Trumpo

Material:

Turumpo's shape is a combination of half sphere on top and conical

section at the bottom where the common iron nail is attached. The body size
usually varies from 4 to 6 cm in height with the nail 2 to 4cm in length. The
wooden material is usually hardwood such as "bayabas", "ipil", or "sampaloc"
so that it will be durable from the hits of other player during the group game.
Playing turumpo is manipulated using "tyate", an 80 to 100 cm string to be
twirled starting from nail tip to the half of wooden body then throwing it in
the flat ground. "Tyate" has a single knot at one end and a knot with
"tansan"(cover of glass soft drinks) on the other end.

Procedure:

Playing "turumpo" has many variations, it can be played by a group or

by single only in a form of exhibitions. Exhibitions is done by spinning it in
the flat concrete surface and observe how is the duration and quality of its
spinning. We called it "kangkarot" if the spinning is not balance that makes it
easy to stop and makes irregular movement, usually happen if the nail was
not attached in center or the nail is not sharpened. We called it "matining" if
the the spinning of "turumpo" is smooth and will take longer time to stop.
Another exhibition is by throwing "turumpo" in the air and catching it with
your palm or with the "tansan" in the end of "tyate".

Mechanics:

Usually it is played by 2 to 6 person in a flat sandy loam ground. A 30

to 60cm circle is drawn in the ground using the nail tip of one player's
"turumpo". Before the game starts, each player will spin their "turumpo" in
the ground simultaneously, the first "turumpo" stops spinning will be the
"taya" and putting his "turumpo" in the center of the circle. Other players will
now start in hitting the "taya"on circle with the player having the 2nd shorter
time of spinning will throw his "turumpo" first. If the striker hits the "taya"
out of the circle while his "turumpo" is still spinning, it is consider a valid hit
and he will punish the "taya's" "turumpo" by putting it fixed on the ground
with its nail then hitting it by nail of striker's "turumpo". If the striker did not
hit the "taya" he will be in danger of becoming the next "taya" because while
his "turumpo is spinning outside the circle, the present "taya" has the option
of picking it up by his "tyate" and catching it by hand. If the striker hit the
"taya" and his "turumpo" makes "baldog" (not spinning), he will join the first
"taya" together inside the circle. A strike with spinning sidesway called
"sikad" is consider a valid strike. The technique to make your "turumpo" will
spin after you strike on ground is by making sure that you twirl the "tyate"
tightly. This group game will tend your "turumpo" to damage after many
times of playing.

Luksong Baka

Material:

Procedure:

The object of the game is to jump over the crouching player or the
"baka". He will gradually stand higher as the game progresses, making it
harder for the other players to jump over. Only the hands of the jumper may
touch the back of the person who is bent over. If a player fails to avoid
contact or fall over the "Baka", he/she will replace the "Baka" player, the
next "Baka" player will start with a bend-down kneeling position, and the
game continues until the all players decides to end the game.

Mechanics:

Luksong baka is played usually of kids from 5-10 members. The game
starts with "maiba taya" to identify who will be the "baka" (the person who
will be jumped on). All of the players will then be jumping over the baka.
Their objective is to surpass each level of the game without touching any
part of their body (except their hands) to the body parts of the baka.

As the level of the game goes higher, difficulty level also gets tougher and
tougher. But for the players, it is getting even more exciting. There are seven
levels in this game.

1. Pandesal - the first level where the baka kneels on the ground
2. Spaghetti - the baka will bow with the tips of his/her hand placed on
the ground
3. Royal - it's like spaghetti but the difference is that the tip of the hands
are placed at the feet of the baka (ankle level).
4. Patapik sa pwet - this is like the previous level but the thing is that the
players should tap the butt of the baka before jumping over.
5. Pasayad - this is also like the Royal level but the player have to land
their butt partly at the back of the baka.
6. Horse-kick - like the pasayad this level also have its twist. The players
should kick the butt of the baka while they are on air.
7. Star - this is the final level in which the first one to jump will be the first
star and so on, so forth. The hands of the baka this time is placed on
his/her knees. After the jump of each of them, they will sit beside the
baka which will add more excitement to the game.
8. If all of the current players successfully surpass all the levels, the game
will then be resumed at the first level. But if not, the game will be
started at the first level and whoever did not surpass will be the one to
be jumping over by the new set of players including the previous baka.
