PROFILING REPORT
(Possible Site for the K 6 School Project)

Introduction

In lieu with the national mandate on Indigenous Peoples Education, a possible collaboration between Saint Marys
University (SMU) and the Department of Education Indigenous Peoples Education Office (IPsEO) was proposed. This is
with regards to the Support to Non-profit K to 6 School Serving Indigenous Peoples (IP) Learners.

As stipulated in the proposal, DepEd will start a program of support for non-profit schools serving IP learners,
specifically offering all or selected levels from Kindergarten to Grade 6, through the provision of financial support of
6,500Php per pupil per school year. The scheme for the operation of this is the same with the current education service
contracting (ESC) scheme of DepEd. Accordingly, this will commence this School Year 2015 2016.
Saint Marys University, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya then recommended the Local Government of Ambaguio to be
the recipient of the proposed project. This project must be in collaboration with the Barangay and Municipal Local
Government Units of the proposed site, Ambaguio DepEd District Office and Saint Damien De Molokai Parish.

As discussed initially, the first step is to come up with the profile of the potential site for the implementation of the
said project, hence, this report.

Two possible sites were recommended, the sitios of Hukhukyong and Bugguen. Sitio Hukhukyong was suggested by Dr.
Evelyn Ramos, IP Ed Coordinator DepEd Nueva Vizcaya, for it is also their priority list. This same sitio was also endorsed
by the parishioners of Saint Damien De Molokai Parish and Mr. Palenpen Lucas, Cathecist assigned in Poblacion,
Ambaguio.

Sitio Bugguen, on the other hand, was endorsed by the District Office of DepEd, Ambaguio through Mr. Arnel
Panganiban considering its proximity to the Municipal Road and accessibility of the community who will be benefitted.
Mrs. Julia Allawas, Cathecist assigned in this area conform with the endorsement and express her desire that it wuld also
be good if a school shall be constructed there. These two then are presented for consideration.

General Information about Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya

Based from the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Profile through the Provincial Planning and Development Office (2009),
Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya is one of the municipalities in the North Sector, 36 kms away from Bayombong, the capital
town of Nueva Vizcaya. Ambaguio is also classified as highland with 8 barangays, namely: Ammoeg, Camandag, Dulli,
Labang, Napo, Poblacion, Salingsingan and Tiblac.

Ambaguio is the second of the municipalities in Nueva Vizcaya which have higher annual population growth rate
than the provinces rate of about 2.30%. The others are Alfonso Castaneda (4.58%), Bambang (1.29%), Kasibu (1.52%)
and Quezon (1.24%). In terms of urbanization, Ambaguio is ranked the least because it has no urban area, 0%
