The financial data extractor is a report writer tool inherent to X3 that can be used for financial reporting
such as a balance sheet and an income statement. As part of the N.A. standard reports, a sample
financial report has been included. The information produced on the report is driven by data produced
from the Financial Data Extractor parameters. This report can be used as a base to produce a custom
balance sheet or income statement for the customer.
On the Financial Data Extractor parameters, the balance sheet extraction code (BSUS) is noted with
XBFDEB for portrait mode and the income statement (PLUS) is noted with XBFDEL for landscape mode.
Setup
Financial Data Extractor Parameters
Two USA extraction codes were setup as samples in the TRAINV6 folder called BSUS for balance sheet
and PLUS for Income Statement. These extraction codes can be modified to fit the needs of the
customer or new ones created for other financial reports.
In order to use the N.A. standard reports against the current extraction codes defined, update the report
code with the appropriate N.A. report. This should also be done for any custom extraction codes
created as well.
Balance Sheet XBFDEP Portrait mode - add this report to the extraction code as noted below.
Income Statement XBFDEL Landscape mode - Add this report to the extraction code as noted below.
Functional Process
Financial Data Extraction Inquiry
The FDE inquiry can be used to view the data produced from the definition setup under the FDE
parameters. Selecting calculation will allow the user to enter the data parameters, site and company
information.
Under File/Properties, the report can be printed. Below is a sample of the balance sheet.
The FDE Calculation is mandatory before any financial data extraction inquiry and is used to perform the
calculation or re-calculation in mass for a group of extraction codes. Reports are not produced from this
function.
