X3-F9 Interface Installation & Technical Setup

Installation Overview
Please read and understand all instructions before installation. One should also understand X3 patching
procedures before attempting to install. For additional information on X3 patching procedures please see
document HTG-X3 Patching.doc.

Patch Installation
Before Installation
This patch will install the following standard programs
XBF9.src
XBF9LIB.src
XBF9PARLIB.src
XBF9UT1.src
XBF9UT2.src
It is possible the current version of this program(s) may have been modified to provide specific
modifications to your X3 system. If that is the case those programs if any should be saved in your
TRT_Change directory. Review your TRT_Change directory if any and review the programs to see if any
match the programs listed above. If you find a match you should confirm the version in your TRT_Change
directory is the most up to date version. After the patch has been installed you will need to compare the
newly installed version to the version saved in your TRT_Change directory. The changes made to the
saved version must be reviewed and properly integrated into the newly installed version and recompiled.

Installation
Please note; the installation of the following patch is done during the initial installation if purchased.
Install following patch files:
NAV6-Px-XA09

After Patch Installation

Technical Setup
Fiscal Year Setup
The 'short title' on the Fiscal Year must indicate the fiscal year. This is important, as the X3-F9 Interface
will not work properly if it is not setup. After the 'short title' for the first year is defined for a company and
ledger type, the F9 interface will increment the field to the following financial years. For example, once the
short title is set for 2004 as shown below, the F9 interface will set 2005, 2006, etc. Note; the interface will
not add fiscal years but will set the short title.

Make sure to enter the fiscal year for the

short title for companies that are to use F9
financial reporting.

F9 Reset Parameters
This function will rebuild the SQL queries required to support the F9 interface according to the database
associated to the folder (SQL Server or Oracle). This function must be run when moving F9 between
folders on the target folder to re-establish the SQL queries for the interface. The application also creates
the appropriate data pump integration file as well as the data pump interface file. These files are copied
to the user's pc through the routine called "F9 Copy Setup To PC".

The following dialog allows user to select a Windows folder to save the F9 parameter files in. Normally,
this folder becomes with the word 'F9' but may be followed with an F9 version number as shown below.
Be sure to select the correct F9 folder as F9 looks for these in its default root directory (e.g., D:\F9v40) for
this install.
