Fixed Asset Transfers in X3

The most common applications for the fixed asset transfer function is to change
the status of an asset from in progress to some capitalized form, and to transfer
an asset from one location to another.

In this example we will be transferring asset FA08002.


Its accounting code and category both denote its capital in progress state.

Step 1: Run the Fixed Asset Transfer process

Go to Fixed Assets/ Fixed Asset Transfer

Transfer Type: Fixed Asset in Progress


Source Fixed Asset: define the applicable fixed asset ID# and categories
Destination Fixed Asset: define the new fixed asset ID# and categories
Site: specify the site to which the fixed asset should be transferred
Accounting Code: should be in agreement with the category

Log file that is generated from the transfer process indicating the new fixed
asset number assigned to the item.

Here is the respective journal entry generated to move the book value of the
asset from capital in progress to the equipment account.
