1. Does the learning culture of this institute promote unity among the societies of different
races?
2. Does the student in Institut Perguruan Kampus Tun Hussein Onn (IPGKTHO) receive
good treatments although they are of different races?
3. What are the activities conducted in the institute to promote unity among the society of
different races and ethnics?
4. Do you think that the society in this institute lives in harmony?
5. Do the lecturers encourage unity in their teaching process?
6. Have you ever come across with the case that could threaten the unity among the
society of the institute?
7. Were there any cases involving prejudice among the races or etching in this institute?
8. Does issues regarding difference between races ever been debated in the teaching and
learning process?
9. Was there any special program done by the IPG administrators to promote unity among
the students? If so, can you recall any of the activities?
10. Based on your experience of being an educator throughout your life, can you notice the
aspect of sociocultural diversity in the classroom that you have thought?
11. Throughout your years of teaching, have you notice any behavior of your students that
can be deemed racist, or in any other way negative in the racial aspect?
12. In your opinion, does the sociocultural diversity in the classroom gives any impact to how
the lesson is carried out? If so, are they negative or positive?
Questions and answers for the interview

1. Does the learning culture of this institute promote unity among the societies of
different races?
For me sure, our institute conducted so many activities as part of the unity.

2. Does the student in Institut Perguruan Kampus Tun Hussein Onn (IPGKTHO)
receive good treatments although they are of different races?
Yes, they do.

3. What are the activities conducted in the institute to promote unity among the
society of different races and ethnics?
As you are the TESL students, from my perspective view, you TESL group really
conducted a lot of activities like English Night, Bina Insan Guru activities and etc.

4. Do you think that the society in this institute lives in harmony?


Yeah sure.

5. Do the lecturers encourage unity in their teaching process?


Yes. Actually, I insist to promote the terms of unity in the classroom when Im teaching in
the class.

6. Have you ever come across with the case that could threaten the unity among the
society of the institute?
No, never.

7. Were there any cases involving prejudice among the races or etching in this
institute?
I have been here for merely about ten years in out IPG and I have never seen before
any cases regarding this problem.

8. Does issues regarding difference between races ever been debated in the
teaching and learning process?
No.
9. Was there any special program done by the IPG administrators to promote unity
among the students? If so, can you recall any of the activities?
We have a lot of activities, like cultural night is one of the common activity carried out in
out IPG. We also have all types of festivals like Chinese New Year, means that out IPG
had carried out a lot of activates according to the festivals that we have in our religion.

10. Based on your experience of being an educator throughout your life, can you
notice the aspect of sociocultural diversity in the classroom that you have
thought?
Actually, I think in all my class, I was teaching in your class especially in semester two
your class actually a very good example of the diversity because we have Indians, we
have Chinese, we have Malay bonds within the class. So actually, I think I dont have
any problems to teach in sociocultural.

11. Throughout your years of teaching, have you notice any behavior of your students
that can be deemed racist, or in any other way negative in the racial aspect?
No.

12. In your opinion, does the sociocultural diversity in the classroom gives any
impact to how the lesson is carried out? If so, are they negative or positive?
Actually, from my perspective view, I actually have to do a homework to understand all
my students which there are multicultural. Actually, its a push for me to know better for
my students because they are all of multicultural. So, this is my challenge.
