The most advanced hatch cover system for container feeder ships comprises TTS Ships
Equipments hydraulically-operated folding units. The system is suitable for container
vessels, multi purpose vessels and bulk carriers. These covers are dimensioned
according to the requirements for stowage of the containers in the holds and on the
cover panels as well as timber packages and heavy project cargo.

The main girders on the panels are of a special design allowing them to be
nested when the covers are in their stowed position, keeping space
requirements to a minimum.Actuation of the covers is by double-acting
hydraulic cylinders articulated between the deck and the cover hinge arm
in such a way as to ensure safe and correct operation of the panels.Another
feature of the container vessel panels is that container lashing equipment
can be stowed and secured on them even when the covers are being
opened and closed.
Side extensions to the panels allow overhanging containers to be stowed
on them without the need for support stanchions on the deck.
The end hinges are specially designed to allow longitudinal movement of
the side coamings when the vessel is working in a seaway.Transverse
movement is controlled by locators arranged at one longitudinal coaming,
while the opposite coaming has freedom of movement beneath the panels.
An automatic cleating system can be provided if required.
TTS Ships Equipment has delivered a number of insulated folding hatch
cover sets for reefer vessels.TTS Ships Equipment has also supplied other
types of insulated hatch covers in addition to developing a new type of
insulation packing.
