KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Launched Deltas Enterprise Risk Management activity and developed the airlines current ERM framework and
risk assurance strategy.
Set strategy for Deltas cybersecurity audit practice, which included a broad range of audits to comply with PCI
Standards, Deltas Information Security Policy and Standards, Privacy Standards, and third party risk.
After the merger with Northwest Airlines, transformed Deltas Corporate Audit function from a fully outsourced
to a co-sourced model, capturing millions of dollars of synergy savings annually.
Founded and led Starbucks first global audit function, with dual responsibility for Sarbanes-Oxley project
management and compliance. Implemented the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Expanded expertise in finance, accounting, internal audit, ERP systems, governance, risk and compliance
through roles with increasing responsibility in public accounting, QSR, beverage, retail, and airline industries.

Vice President, Corporate Audit and Enterprise Risk Management
Built and provided strategic leadership of the worldwide corporate audit and ERM activities for one of the
worlds largest airlines. Reported functionally to the Audit Committee and administratively to the CFO. Advised
and supported Delta leadership in managing risk and developing control enhancements to improve operating
efficiency and drive profits. Created and presented internal audit, ERM, and Sarbanes-Oxley status reports at
Audit Committee and Board of Director meetings. Served as a voting member of Deltas Benefit Funds Investment
Committee (BFIC), and was the executive sponsor of Deltas Asia Pacific Employee Network (APEN). Active
member of Executive Steering Committees for several large system implementations.
Led a high performing team of co-sourced audit professionals in completing a wide variety of financial, technology
and operational audits of controls, policies, and business processes. Annually completed and issued 60-75 audits
across a broad range of risk areas and led finance-focused investigations related to policy compliance and fraud.
Focused substantial audit efforts on information security, privacy, and third party risk (including cloud security).
Collaborated with business leaders to provide operational recommendations and control enhancements. Key
opportunities were identified in the areas of disaster preparedness, aircraft and engine warranty recovery, baggage
fee performance, fare override prevention and fraud recovery projects. Recommendations by Corporate Audit were
expected to yield substantial annual profit improvement or cost recovery when fully implemented.
Founded and co-chaired the Delta Risk, Privacy and Compliance Council with senior and executive officers responsible
for Corporate Safety and Security, Compliance and Quality, Corporate Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management,
Corporate Audit, Information and Cybersecurity, Privacy, Insurance, Operations, and Human Resources. The DRPCC
evaluated risk at the enterprise level and coordinated risk assurance activities to avoid gaps or duplication of efforts.

Vice President, Internal Audit (January 2001 March 2009)
Founded the companys first global audit department reporting functionally to the Audit and Compliance
Committee and administratively to the CFO. Led Starbucks enterprise risk assessment activities. Co-chaired the
Enterprise Risk Council with the CFO and Chief Compliance Officer. Active participant on Starbucks Business
Ethics & Compliance Council. Led financial due diligence and integration efforts for multiple acquisitions,
both domestic and worldwide.
Implemented Sarbanes-Oxley Sections 404 and 302 requirements, including scoping decisions and execution of
testing.
Adopted a balanced scorecard to measure and manage department performance.
Owner of Starbucks Fraud Risk Assessment activities.
Led departments efforts in pre- and post-implementation reviews of significant Oracle ERP system changes.
Streamlined the Sarbanes-Oxley testing approach to significantly reduce internal costs and external audit fees.
Developed a business ethics course that was made mandatory for all members of Finance and Accounting.
Director, Retail Accounting (January 1998 December 2000)
Directed all retail accounting departments including sales audit, retail inventory, retail accounting, licensed
stores and other non-coffee retail ventures. This department provided accounting and reporting shared
services for all North American Retail locations comprising 85% of Starbucks revenue. Actively involved in
merger and acquisition due diligence, including the acquisitions of the Seattle Coffee Company (UK), Seattles
Best Coffee, and other non-coffee and tea retailers.
Developed accounting integration plans for purchases of domestic and international retail companies.
Restructured retail accounting department of 70 FTEs to improve decisions, staff development, and internal
communication.
Prepared and delivered presentations to field operations teams on inventory and cost of sales management.
Streamlined monthly accounting close processes for accounts payable, sales audit and comp-sales reporting,
inventory, and retail store reporting for the North American Retail Business Unit and licensed operations.

Director, Franchise Revenue and Planning
Created Taco Bells annual franchise operating plan and overhead budgets and provided monthly and quarterly
forecasts of franchise revenues and development fees. Responsible for financial reporting and analysis of
franchise operations and improving collection of royalty and advertising fees. Owner of the financial approval
process for franchisee new unit development and divestitures of Company restaurants. Held additional
positions of Manager, Taco Bell Express Accounting and Manager, Internal Audit prior to promotion to director.

Planned and executed financial audits of public and privately held global corporations in consumer products,
