My life, your life, and their life. All of these are extremely important but one especially,
the life of that in the womb. All of these are of extreme value to humanity but abortion makes it
seem to be a simple normality to degrade the life of those in the womb. In 1973 the ruling of Roe
vs. Wade in the Supreme Court made this act of aborting a child in the womb legal. This unborn
child, without a voice or the chance to live, can now be killed at a womans disposal at a local
clinic. Planned Parenthood has taken this country by storm to let women know that the accident
in their womb, that mistake and that shame in their uterus, can be taken care of and
forgotten in one visit to a Planned Parenthood Clinic. Where is the child's voice and right to life?
In this immoral action, where is the sanctity of life preserved? From natural conception to natural
death, one is given the privilege of life and should morally be carried out for all.
For one to know the stance against abortion one must know what this act is. It is defined
as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28
weeks of pregnancy. According to Roe V. Wade, this action can be carried out from the moment
of conception until birth, making it illegal to kill the child after that point. The action of abortion
however goes beyond this definition. One who has ever seen a picture of these human parts once
they have been removed from the womb and placed upon a dish in an abortion clinic knows the
horror and reality of this action. These children in the womb are removed with a small vacuum

device, flushed out and suffocated by a sodium chloride injection, or hysterotomy and so on.
Abortion is the deliberate killing of a child in the womb per previously stated methods.
I do not understand how one can value his or her own life but stand up and say an unborn
childs does not have value therefore it is not life. Why does this happen when the facts are clear
as day and man proves man wrong by saying it is life? A prevalent argument to have abortions is
because of a very serious situation that is known to us as rape. In the U.S. less than 1% of
abortions are because of rape. The other 99% of abortions occur because the woman is not ready
to have a child, is financially unable to, or others do not want her to have a child. This is where
My body, my choice comes into vocalization. My body, my choice is saying the women can
chose to do whatever she may wish to do because that is her body. Once that phrase is said that
this fetus is the mother's body, science pulls into play a different role. According to
Liveactionnews.org the fetus DNA is its own (Terzo). It is not the mothers, it is not the fathers, it
is its own unique and personal DNA. Not one person on this earth has the exact same DNA as
another. This is what sets the fetus apart the mother, this fetus is its own body and its own
Look at a thump print. Look at each line, each curve, each bend, and each dip. That is a
thumbprint is unique, even one's own thumbprints vary, neither one is identical (Knapton). The
formation of each fingerprint reflects the environment in the womb. A fetus fingerprint has
finished full formation by month six in the womb (Sahasrabudhe). In the womb, the epidermis or
outer layer of skin is buckling and causing the ridge patterns on each finger. The environment in
the womb and the individuality of the buckling patterns is what creates each unique fingerprint.

(Sahasrabudhe). No one on this earth has ever had this pattern on their thumb but you, so why do
we not value our unique lives with the same dignity as those forming in the womb? If our
Life in the womb is disregarded in abortion cases and classified as the removal of waste
or flesh from the uterus. This leads me to the science behind the reality that the fetus in the
womb is, in fact, human and not mere masses of flesh. We have all learned in our first biology
classes that all material needs to fit into seven general categories to be considered living. First,
all living things are composed of cells, they all grow and need nutrition, they respond to stimuli,
are able to reproduce, are able to move, perform respiration, and are all able to get rid of waste.
All of these points prove that this fetus in the womb is as alive as necessary to be considered a
living thing. Life begins at the moment of conception otherwise knows as fertilization according
to princeton.edu (Life Begins at Fertilization). By having all the qualities of life, this flesh in the
The controversial knowledge that life begins at fertilization is a feeding ground for
pro-choice activists. I understand that we all have our opposing views but in a topic like this that
science proves so true, the moment of life begins at fertilization. When fertilization occurs the
embryo in the womb in composed of cells, it needs nutrition to survive, it is able to move, it can
respond to its outside environment, and can even soon perform respiration (Life Begins at
Fertilization). This is science, it is not a choice that this occurs but rather a fact proven day and
Why isnt life, proven by science, given the dignity it deserves in the womb and out of it?
Science has very carefully and openly shared with us the truth of life and he qualifications that a

fetus has to be deemed life. Science has proven to us that life begins at fertilization, why do we
not take the facts given? Take your needs to the side and focus on the needs of others, focus on
the dignity and sanctity of a human life and value its thumbprint just as though you value yours.
