COUNTRY/POST IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAY 9, 2016
ELECTIONS
This pertains to the Memorandum dated November 12, 2015 of Atty.
Maria Juana S. Valeza, Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) Secretariat,
relative to the modes of voting per country/post in connection with the May
9, 2016 Elections, with the recommending approval of Commissioner
Arthur D. Lim, Commissioner-in-Charge, OFOV.
The Memorandum of Atty. Valeza reads.
“Section 23 of Republic Act No. 10590 amending Republic Act No.
9189 provides that the Commissien shall announce the specific mode of
voting per county/post at least one hundred twenty (120) days before the
start of the voting period.
After due consultations with various Posts and the Department of
Foreign Affairs, the manpower complement of the Posts, the cost for
payment of honoraria, travel, training, deployment and other election
related expenses, and past history of voter turn-out, the Office for
Overseas Voting (OFOV) recommends as follows:
4. Thirty (30) Posts will adopt the Automated Election System
(AES).
