CIRCULAR

MINIMUM WAGES ACT, 1948

Revised minimum rates of wages for the workers employed in the Construction and maintenance of road or in
building operation/ Sweeping and cleaning/ Watch and Ward with effect from 19.01.2017.

As per the notification reference No. S.O. 187(E)., Dated 19.01.2017, issued by office of the Chief Labour
Commissioner (C) New Delhi, the minimum rates of wages payable to contract labour in various unskilled/ semi
skilled/ skilled and Highly skilled categories are here under:-

The above mentioned rates are applicable w.e.f. 19.01.2017 and you are advised to pay the contract labourer as
per the above mentioned rates with immediate effect. For any other categories of labour which are not
mentioned above, the Sr.Manager (HRM) Amenities & CWR Cell may be consulted to ascertain the rates
payable as per the notification. You are also advised to effect arrear payment to the contract labourer engaged by
you in presence of certifying officer with effect from 19.01.2017.
