(What Happened?)
Grade: 7.2 (Constantinople)
Brief explanation before watching video
clips; In order to help the students visualize
about how did the Byzantine Empire and
the Capital City looked like, I showed
some short video clips.
Grade: 10 (History Class)
The seat setting was more like an open
square
Reflections & Critical Response
(What do I think of it? What went well? What
could be improved? How? What will I do
differently? How does this connect to the theory I
have read from class?)
In last class, I did not give any explanation
about the videos that we were going to
watch and I had a hard time making them
to share about it. This time, I learned from
last class and I told the students what I
expected them to think through, what
things they should focus on as they were
watching videos. I foretold them the
guiding questions so that they would be
prepared to answer the questions. This
actually helped and I could see their active
participation in discussion.
This is a great idea for the teacher as the
students could easily be seen. Mostly, I
have seen traditional classroom setting and
this is new for me. I think even the seat
setting could also matter in classrooms.
When students enter into class and see a
different setting, it would somehow give
them a fresh motivation to learn.
