MANNION MIDDLE SCHOOL BEGINNING BAND AND INSTRUMENT TEST DRIVES

On MONDAY, MARCH 20 OR MONDAY, MARCH 27 OR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5 from 4:00pm 6:00pm
FIFTH GRADE: YOU ARE INVITED to test drive any and all band instruments on one of the above dates!
All students registering for beginning band must attend one of these three dates where you will learn
about the band program and have the opportunity to play any band instrument youd like. Students and
parents will receive guidance in selecting the best instrument for you to play in beginning band next year.
Its simple! Pick the date that works best for you and come to the band room at Mannion (signs will direct
you) between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. Both student and parent should plan to attend and please plan to be
at Mannion for approximately 1 hour. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Haines (one of the
band directors at Mannion) at plhaines@interact.ccsd.net Come give a band instrument a test drive
and well see you in beginning band next school year!

REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2017-2018 school year is quickly approaching as the new school year starts on August
14, 2017. Parents please make sure you are registered in Infinite Campus. You should have a log-in and
password. If you have not yet created your log-in and password, come into the office at Walker and see
Mrs. Hodge. She will provide you with instructions of how to set up your account. If you have a log-in, but
have forgotten the password, come into the schools office with your identification so that new password
can be set-up. Please refer to the attached flyer.

Family Math & Science Night

The Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 23, 2017! Family Math and Science Night will be taking
place from 4:00-5:00 p.m. J. Marlan Walker teachers for grades K-5 will be leading grade appropriate
activities in different classrooms. The entire family will be able to experience math and science
interactively. We look forward to seeing you on this night!

Thank you to all of our wonderful parents, students and staff who represented Walker in the
Henderson St. Patricks Day Parade. A fun time was had by all!
We applauded Mr. Stephens and Mrs. McGrath for spearheading the successful Walker parade
event.
Hooray for the SOT team who are doing an awesome job for our Walker community.
Big Accolades to our wonderful parent Mrs. Ramirez for assisting our front office with the very
successful penny fundraiser.
We appreciate our parents and families commitment and personal sacrifice in behalf of our students by supporting
events, school activities, fundraisers, PTA, and volunteering at the school.
