To Whom it May Concern,

Taylor Rice is an outstanding educator and will be a tremendous asset to any elementary
school. I had the pleasure of teaching Miss Rice in two courses; Effective Classroom
Management and Intermediate Reading and Language with Practicum. I also supervised
Miss Rices Student Teaching Internship. During this time, I found Miss Rice to be
intelligent, compassionate, friendly and hardworking.

Miss Rice was very insightful, reflective and eager to gain all that she could as we studied
Harry Wongs The First Days of School. Her questions, responses and management plans
demonstrated a strong grasp of effective management skills. Miss Rice is a team player and
earns the respect of her colleagues, professors, and students by her own respectful
demeanor.

Those excellent management skills were put to the test in both her Reading Practicum and
her Internship where she worked with fourth grade students. Miss Rice had her students
attention from the start because of her unique balance of being fair, firm, friendly and
interesting. The students face would light up when he saw Miss Rice and he kept that
excitement on her face as she worked through lessons. Best of all, Miss Rice was a natural at
making accommodations to meet the best needs of her student. Several times, I watched
her make helpful adjustments on the spot when needed.

Miss Rice also has a superb understanding of state standards. She put together meaningful
lesson plans that not only targeted essential standards, but inspired active learning. In fact,
we spent an extensive amount of time mastering essential writing skills. Miss Rice has
crafted and taught multiple lessons as he successfully taught Six-Trait Writing skills to
fourth graders. Your entire staff can benefit from the writing skills she possesses.

As you can see, Taylor Rice has all of the qualities of a master teacher. She will be a
significant asset to any grade level and teaching staff.

Sincerely,

Angela N. Abbott
