Autobiography

I am Razel Mae E. Sabpar, 17 years of age. I came from Bacolod

City, Negros Occidental but currently living in Banilad, Dumaguete
City. I graduated my high school in Dumaguete City High School. I
am now a second year college in Negros Oriental State University
taking up the course of Bachelor in Elementary Education major in
General Curriculum.

My mothers name is Lucena E. Sabpar. She is working domestic

helper in Kuwait while my fathers name is Rolando W. Sabpar, he
is a carpenter. I have one sister her name is Ritchel Ann E.
Sabpar, she is in grade 6 in South City Elementary School.

My favorite hobbies are playing badminton, cooking, reading, and

watching Korean dramas. My favorite food is one and only care-
care but I also like the spicy foods. I am very fond with artist, my
favorite Korean artist is Lee Minho but I also like Lee Jung Suk and
Lee Jonggi.

My ambition in life is to become an architect but my drawing skills

is not so good so my second choice is to become a teacher
because I want to empower the right of the youth, their right to
be knowledgeable so that other people will never step a foot to
them. I want to encourage them to learn, keep on learning and
always interested in learning like Dr. Rizal, he never stops in
learning new things and he is so persistent and determined to
learn. According to him Youth is future of the Nation. And I also
believed in the saying Education is life because once you are an
educated person, you will be respected by others and you will
know how to determine the right from wrong act. We are not born
to live in our own but also to other people. We are bound in the
name of love by God thats why people must reunited into each
other and lean the virtue of understanding one another.
CHAPTER 1
Teachers of the Early Generations versus Teachers of the 21st Century

In early years, teachers were regarded as instrument for information

dissemination and communicators of knowledge in which students
obediently receive and believe but the teachers of the 21 st century usually
makes the students to participate and give information or ideas related to
the subject matter. They are developed to be creative and critical thinkers.

1. Learning and Innovation skills

2. Life and career skills
3. Information, media and technology skills

The partnership for 21s t century skills has suggested six key elements for
fostering 21st century learning.

1. Emphasize core subjects.

2. Emphasize learning skills.
3. Use 21st century tools to develop learning skills.
4. Teach and learn in a 21st century context.
5. Teach and learn in a 21st century content.
6. Use 21st century assessments that measure 21st century skills.
REFLECTION
Based on what I have learned, there are differences in delivering
the lesson from the teacher of the yesteryears and the teacher of
the 21st century. Nowadays, teachers makes their students to be
more competitive, they can collaborate and share their thoughts.
They may be able to express their thoughts and given a chance to
learn at their own pace. They are more aware of using
technologies as their guide to acquire knowledge and be more
efficient in learning the certain topic. Through technologies the
students can be more learning gradually and continuously
because it helps them a lot.

It is important that nowadays we use technology as our source of

information because it help us a lot, it help us to communicate
other people whether they are in the far places. Through
technologies it makes us possible to keep in touch with them. I
also knew that through social media we can have an online
teacher which also teaches us like we are in the real classrooms.
There are a lot of things that technologies contribute to our daily
lives.
CHAPTER 2
Technology in Teaching and Learning

The use of technology in education is likewise guided by standards to

develop among learners the skills that need to possess for the 21 st century
for them to be able to serve not only for themselves but to the world.

ISTE( ) is a non-profit organization that promotes the use of technology to

support and enhance teaching and learning. Three standards that have been
develop by ISTE.

Standard for Administrator

Standard for Teachers
Standard for Students

ISTE for Administrator

Administrators are the supporters of digital and technology-rich teaching and
learning environment. They lead in the transformation of educational system
with the affirmation that these technologies make teaching and learning
more engaging, interesting, inspiring, reflecting and empowering.

REFLECTION
It is a setting standard that help us achieve quality output. It
helps to fulfill our goals and objectives. As a future teacher, I will
be facilitating my studies, and to let them engage in using
technology to help in their learning and to achieved the learning
objectives. Also it is important to teach them the proper usage of
the technology and let them know the limitation of using these
tools.

With ISTE standard for the students, it allows them to learn both
knowledge and skills that can help them to contribute in the
community and society. The TIP model shows the teacher how to
establish a milieu in which technology can effectively enrich
learning. Therefore, using technology must help you in
understanding, gaining information ideas, and to enhance our
skills. You should know the advantage of using technologies and
set limitations that it will not result in destruction or addiction.
CHAPTER 3
Digital Technology and Media literacy

REFLECTION
In the 21st century, most of the teachers are using the technology
to teach their students. In order for the teachers to achieve the
time that he/she planned to deliver the lesson the teacher buses
strategies to achieve the learning task. They use the TIME plan to
guide them of what they are going to teach for a certain session.

The impact of Digital Media in Education is that you will learn

more when you do it by yourselves or manipulate the things by
the help of your knowledge. Moreover, there are lots of mindtools
that can help you to learn and makes you a critical thinker. To
conclude, many teachers are using Technology to add their
knowledge and to be updated for the lesson and they let the
students to learn and use the electronic devices to acquire
knowledge.

REFLECTION
Most of the things we used and do nowadays involved the use
of technology. Students and teachers made use of these when
they communicate, learn, access information, entertain and
eve to help them in daily task.

Through the ages, the technology is kept on updating and

making it high technology. It contributes in the school, in
learning and acquiring knowledge, and students, teacher uses
technology as a part of learning experience. Even in the early
1650s there is already what we called the Horn Book. It is part
of the ICT until now there is development in using technology.
Through the use of computers, it helps us to communicate and
many more.

As a student, I can say that I rely on the technology to gather

information, to research, make my assignments, and even my
reports. Its really a big help in life of a students, not only for
the students but also for the teachers, there is an app that
makes their works easier in making grades and to grade the
students performance. Therefore, using technology is a lot of
help to all of us, it gives us comfort and convenience in life but
we should put our mind that in spite of the advantage of using
it, it can also destroy our environment and our lives.

for both the teacher and student but always
remember that it also gives disadvantage to us.
To have a better result in using the software, you
must chose wisely of what you are going to use
and set limitation on using so that it will not ruin
you or gives you problems.

CHAPTER 7
Evaluating Educational Technology

Evaluation is an important part of any process or any entity or item

conserved by an individual, to know how its works, whether it is
effective or not and to determine if its benefits or brings
complications to the users. Educational Technology is being
evaluated before instruction, during instruction and after
instruction.

Evaluating Software Programs

The following are areas that read to be evaluated.
1. Content
2. Documentation and technical support
3. Ability levels and assessment
4. Technical quality and ease of life

Education Technology Integration: Evaluating its effectiveness

Evaluating Ed Techs effectiveness is no easy task for this is

link with the students learning, evaluating the effectiveness of the
Tech is connected with the assessment given to studies.

The following are the assessments that may be given to students

1. Traditional assessment
2. Alternative assessment
3. Authentic assessment
4. Project-based
5. Portfolio

Checklist, Rating Scales, Rubrics

After the students submit their requirements, projects and

other assessment, the teacher will evaluate all these and their
learning process checklist, rating scales, and rubrics. These
evaluation tools are likewise helpful in evaluating the integration of
Ed Tech in Education.

REFLECTION
It is important for the teacher to evaluate the
Educational Technology that he/she uses to
determine if it helps them in teaching the students.
Evaluation is to determine the appropriateness of
Ed Tech in classroom instruction and to gauge how
it enhances teaching.
Evaluation also is use to evaluate the students
performances, the criteria, rubrics, checklist and
rating skills serves for the teacher as their guide
to grade the students assignment, projects,
presentations, skills, and performances. Lets
remember that the Educational must be suitable
for the teaching and learning situations,
motivational, promote learning, address the needs
of the curriculum and help to meet the learning
outcomes of the students. Therefore, in using the
software in teaching, they must know the
appropriateness and the importance of using it, the
teacher must supervise and monitor so that the
students must be guided in assessing the totality
of learning.

CHAPTER 8
Legal and Ethical use of the Technology

In the use of school technologies, both teachers and students must

recognize and observe the ethical use of the school technologies to
achieve rightfully the main purpose of technology to support
teaching and learning.

Ethical Issues in Technology and Software

commercial activities.

REFLECTION
There is an ethical use of the school technologies to
achieve rightfully purpose of technology to support
teaching. We must follow the rules so that we can learn
without problem. I know that there are some cases that
the users did not abide the rules and they install some
documents that did not belong to them. This in now the
problem because you downloaded a certain program
without the permission, it is unlawfully act and you will be
arrested for making supplicate without the authorization
of the owner. So in using the technologies, we must be
considerate and know our limitation, save documents
that only belongs to you and protect it. But no matter
how much you protect the data in your computer
software, there are times that it is still being susceptible
from hacking. You must check it time to time and dont let
anyone know your privacy. The best precautionary
measure in keeping the hardware safe is to have full
awareness on its security by not leaving it anywhere and
unattended.
