Reading Lists and Resources

Youll find below books and resources to help familiarise yourself with much of the essential
background science of your chosen subject before you arrive. Its not necessary to purchase any
of these books.
As well as reading about the science related to your subject its equally important that youre aware of
the topical issues and there are web resources to help you with this too. You also should look to
newspapers such as the Guardian to catch on the latest earth and environmental science news.
Buying books
There are many bookshops in Leeds such as Waterstones (in the city centre) and Blackwells
(opposite the university campus). Details of the School of Earth and Environment book exchange can
be found in the Undergrad Office on level 10 and you can always post requests on the SEE Facebook
group page. Youll also find that there are lots of notices posted by students around the School /
University selling books they have finished with at cheap prices.
