Purposes/Importance
To understand and develop knowledge about the Read by 3 bill.
To provide an overview of research and professional literature around the topics of
Read by 3 retention and intervention strategies.
Goals
Actively participate in collaborative discussion regarding Read by, 3 retentions
policies and intervention strategies.
Dialogue about the content of the assigned professional articles, with a specific
focus on: Why reading on grade level in third grade is essential to student success?
Is retention an effective intervention strategies? What are some effective
intervention strategies to increase literacy proficiency?
