My goal in Mandarin I for the fall semester of this school year was to be able to improve on speaking and being able to
read in mandarin chinese. Overall, I was unsuccessful in reaching this goal because of weaknesses regarding my class
engagement. I struggled primarily with class engagement because I was often distracted by some of my peers.
Although I struggled with several study skills this year, I have also been successful with organization, preparation, and
participation. I have always had my laptop charged and brought to class things that I would be needing. I also
participate actively in activities in class. Additionally, I have used Google Classroom to keep up with my assignments
and checked my email if anything. In most cases, these organizational habits have helped me to succeed in major
project and classwork assignments, and I believe that with trying harder and practicing, I will improve in the language
mandarin.
