President Obamas Red Lines Make the United States More Vulnerable

Obamas Red Line Policy has made the world more dangerous by making the United

States more vulnerable and by putting other countries at risk. The United States is more

vulnerable to the Red Lines because of death, destruction, war in Syria, and worldwide issues.

Thousands of people have died, and Obamas retreat was out for the blood of civilians(Forbes

Magazine 2015) because of the Red Line. President Obama made repetitive remarks that

chemical weapons would be Red Line for the US.

The Red Line is a policy that President Obama created during his second term in

February 2016. When answering the question, Would you ever envision using U.S. military

forces in Syria? (Forbes Magazine 2015) His response to this question was, using chemical

weapons would be a Red line for the United States. (Forbes Magazine 2015) This Red Line

statement was a warning for Syria to let them know if they decided to use chemical weapons that

the United States would attack. Obama restated this line multiple times to get the message

across. This message was spread publicly and privately to different governments around the

world. Everyone believed that if Syria was to use chemical weapons that President Obama would

order military attacks. Syria decided to test the president. They continued to test the president

until the U.N. inspectors found the evidence to the point where Syrians couldnt deny it anymore.

When the president was asked what to do about this situations, he denied drawing any red line.
(Forbes Magazine 2015) Then he said that his hands were tied and he needed the help of

Congress to decide what to do. Because President Obama did not follow through on his original

Red Line statement, the United States became more vulnerable because people around the

world wont believe Obama when he makes this type of statement in different situation. This

immediately caused a huge reaction from the media resulting in death and destruction which

eventually led to war in Syria and other issues around the world.

When Syria crossed the Red Line and then got no reaction from the United States, there

was an increase in death and destruction in Syria. Syrian President Bashar al Assad saw an

opportunity to causes issues worldwide. Even if that meant harming his own people. When the

Red Line was taken back, another 100,000 non-combats have died and more than 9 million

civilians have been displaced.(Forbes Magazine 2015) ISIS then began to become more

powerful and eventually went into Iraq. There are currently Arab allies now being held captive in

the shadows of abandoned United States bases. (Forbes Magazine 2015) As time passed the

death and destruction in Syria turned into war. In Syria, Obamas retreat was written in the

blood of civilians.(Forbes Magazine 2015) Along with Syria turning into a warzone, Obamas

Red Lines spread around the world. The Russians have devoured of Ukraine, The Chinese

have began to intensify their cyber attacks, and Russias Eurasian Union are tilting away from

the US. (Forbes Magazine 2015) Obamas Red Line Policy has made the United States more

vulnerable because thousands of civilians in Syria has been killed or gone missing. This makes

the United States more vulnerable because when other countries try to argue or fight with us we

have that very obvious weakness that our president caused these issue in Syria. The Red Lines

also made the United States more vulnerable by putting other countries at risk. All because of the
Red Lines there has been issues for Ukraine, Syria, and the United States itself, this makes the

United States more vulnerable.

If President Obama had followed through with his original Red Line plan and had gone

to war with Syria the United States would be less vulnerable and the rest of the world wouldnt

be as dangerous as it is. If the Red Line policy actually happened there would be no commotion

in the world because of the United States around the world aside from Syria. If we had gone to

war with Syria when they first tested us then in Syria there would not be as many problems as

there currently are there now. And the rest of the middle east wouldnt be threaten by the dangers

of Syria. Death, destruction, war in Syria, and other issues around the world have all been caused

by the Red Line Policy. Obamas Red Lines have made the world more dangerous by making

the United States more vulnerable and putting other countries at risk.
