1. What is the best strategy for combating terrorism?

Terrorism is still an international problem in todays global community. It actually has
been an international nuisance for an extremely long time. Terrorism has been used in
retaliation for certain wrongdoing, to express political and religious beliefs, and in
other cases for specific purposes of intimidating and injuring civilians. It involves
violent acts, which induce fear, hatred and are perpetrated for a religious, political or
ideological goal. These acts are deliberately targeted to disregard the safety and
wellbeing of the non-combatants. Most of the nations are and have been affected by
terrorism in one way or another

In 2009 study concluded that the most common utilized counter terrorism tactics, such
as extrajudicial killings, torture, and political imprisonments, are in fact themselves
acts of terror. Terrorize in the name of combating terrorism is ironically hypocritical.
When groups of counter-terrorist use the tactics of terrorists in order to counter terror
they descend to their moral level and just add more terror to the world. And if that
were not enough, when counter-terrorists terrorize people, they actually can generate
terrorists. In addition to civilian casualties, governments insidiously conspired to
abuse other basic rights in the name of fighting terrorism. They tighten security to
unreasonable degree, impose petty regulations and sensor the masses hence creating
police state devoid of freedom and instilled with fear. Thus we are faced with vicious
cycle counterterrorism breeds more terrorism and then more terrorism breeds more
counterterrorism, and this cycle goes on and on ad infinitum.

We cannot justify criminal means to fight crime, we cannot terrorize to fight

terrorism, and we cannot devalue human life in the name of preserving it. Rather than
combating and countering terrorism, the nations should work collectively and
implement new domestic and foreign policies that adhered to the dignity and integrity
of their citizens, campaigns that require a truly comprehensive strategy that surpasses
military action and intelligence. Policies should be redefined in accordance with
protection and preservation of human rights. Many governments both in the west and
in the east have failed drastically to respect the basic standard rights articulated in the
United Nations Human Right Declaration of 1948 and subsequent both international
and regional covenant.

Sending strong message that include an increase in military power, sanctions and
preemptive strike is still a good idea. But still, the best way to combat terrorism
without harming civilians and respect human right is through non-violent. How dare
those people who called themselves counter-terrorist shed the civilians blood in the
name of protecting. We the people should demand an end to all forms of terror.

2. Why we have to choose you?

I think I am the perfect person to fill in that position because I have that potential. I
am confident that I will be one of the great people in the upcoming MUN. Well, also I
am willing to give it a shot. Even though my experience in MUN is still little, but I
believe my skill can compromise that. Besides, I am always enthusiastic and enjoy
about what I do. This will make a positive contribution to the team. Whenever people
gave and trusted me a position, I will take that seriously and I will make sure they
didnt regret trusting me.

3. Explain us about your characteristic, including your experience in leadership or

organization!
I can be introvert to people that I just barely know, but to some of my closest friend I
can be extrovert. I am also a type of person who can be optimistic and pessimistic at
the same time. I can easily get excited over things. I can be a perfectionist sometimes.
Because of that, I usually spend extra times to finish my work as perfect as it can be.
To some people, I am very talkative. I am pretty open with people who open with me.
Gregarious, I guess people would describe me as. I will basically talk to anybody
about anything, if they ask me. I can be shy. It takes me a little while to get
comfortable in new surroundings. But once I am comfortable, I kind of open up and
Im ok. Most people said that I am pretty easy to talk to. I have people sit next to me
on public transportations or even in the waiting room and will tell me a bit of their life
story, and I dont even know them. But also there are also people see me a little bit
differently than I do. They see me that I am always confident all the time. But overall,
I think they see me as a very sincere, trustworthy person.
I have always found myself in leadership roles in the past 3 years, when I start
entering university. On 2014, my classmates chose me as the class chief. The funny
story is that I never been a leader before, so I was like so proud and worried at the
same time. But as time goes by, I found that there is this felling saying like You are
actually good at this. I n this 3 years university journey, my friends have trusted me
as a leader like for most of the time. I was once chosen as a project officer for an
event in FK on my first year. I was also trusted as Vice Representative for AMSA-
Unsri last year, and now I was trusted as Chapter Representative for J-AMSA, AMSA
International. Not only that, I was given the chance to be a Sekretaris Bidang CE
Wilayah I ISMKI twice, but I turn that offer down because I think its not my time and
also I need to focus on one team. For me, I think I need to change the way I lead
overtime. My leadership style in the class and in the organization that I join with may
be different, depending on the people I am working with and the goal that my team
trying to accomplish. What I like to do is to gather a lot of input from my friends, I
dont like to be an autocratic and just giving orders. I really like to get their feedbacks
and give their thoughts so that when you have a clear vision for what you want to do.
I love to see when my teammates can bond together and feel as if we are a family.
