Personal, Social and Emotional Develop-
ment
We will be focusing on recognising and under-
standing other peoples feelings. Knowing how
to take steps to resolve conflicts with our friends
and how to quickly find a compromise.
Literacy
We will look at lots of different stories such
as Percy the Park Keeper, Charlie and Lola,
and books related to different occupations
such as fire men, police, vets. Please encour-
age your child to read/ share books.
Maths
Children will learn about creating and de-
scribing different patterns, use mathematical
language to describe 3D shapes and will
focus on adding and subtracting numbers.
Physical Development
Funky Fingers helps to strengthen our muscles in our
arms and fingers. We will do lots of activities to
develop this area! P.E will continue once a week on
a Monday. Please ensure PE kits are in school every
Monday and stay in school for the duration of the
term. The children will need shorts, t-shirt and
pumps.
Jolly Jobs
Understanding the World
We will be looking at changes over
time related to the seasons. Our garden area
will be having a make over with bulbs being
planted by the children.
Communication and Language
The children will have many opportunities to
listen and talk to both their peers and adults in
lots of different situations. Please encourage
your child to share what they have done at home
with us in school. A show and tell session will
happen every Wednesday.
Expressive Arts and Design
Music Children will investigate differ-
ent sounds instruments make. Children
will be encouraged to move rhythmically to
music.
Art We are using different textured materials
to create collage pictures of different jobs.

Maths - Add, Subtract, 1 more/ 1less, vertices,
faces, edges
Topic - Season, job, weather
Feelings - Happy, sad, worried, excited
Literacy - Title, author, illustrator, blurb, setting,
character

* Percys Park dress up day - Tuesday 9th
January. Children to dress up as Percy or
one of his woodland friends
