Guest lecture by Mr.Vivek Saraf, Director, Standard Chartered Bank.

IIFT was proud to host Mr. Vivek Saraf , Director & Team Head- East India, Commercial Banking,
at Standard Chartered Bank. An alumnus of IIFT himself, Mr.Vivek was invited to share his
experience in the industry and talk about career in Finance and Banking sector. He started with
an account of his journey in the industry after earning his MBA degree, how he had to face a few
obstacles before he could find his dream role in Finance.
He spoke about the various businesses banks operate in and the opportunities one might have if
he/she is interested in Finance. Being passionate, having the urge to learn and delivering more
than expected are few success mantras in life according to him that are very crucial to grow in
ones career.
We thank Mr. Vivek for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit the campus and interact with
the students.
Alumni Interaction by Mr.Ripunjoy Bose

Mr. Ripujoy Bose ,Manager, Sales Strategy,Insights & Analytics at Emami Ltd from the class of
2010 visited IIFT Kolkata Campus and interacted with students. He explained concepts related to
Market research techniques and operation management in FMCG companies. He also shared
his experiences post IIFT in the corporate world.
Alumni Interaction by Mr.Subhajit Ghosh

IIFT was proud to have Mr. Subhajit Ghosh, PMI India Champion and alumnus from the class of
2012 on the campus to share his knowledge on Project Management with the students.
He started off with his corporate experience post IIFT and later explained the need of Project
management in which ever industry the students choose to pursue their career. He also gave a
hindsight view about the various certifications available in the stream of Project Management.
Live Project Launch by Mr.Gaurav Luthra, Co-Founder. WhatsUp Life
Mr.Gaurav Luthra, an alumnus from the batch of 2006-2008 and the co-founder
of WhatsUp Life, was on Campus to launch a live project related to Marketing
and Business Development Opportunities. He talked about his own experiences
during the MBA course and his life post IIFT. He also talked about the challenges
faced by entrepreneurs and how MBA students are suited to solve them using
their skills. Students later applied for the live project and were selected after
evaluation of their applications.

Apart from the above mentioned activities, the following tasks were
undertaken by the Alumni Committee.
1) Updation of database of Executive batches of 2006-2009 and 2011-2014.
2) Updation of database of outgoing batch of 2015-17
3) Various Job postings on Alumni portal and IIFT Referral network.
4) Collection of interviews from top level Alumni.
