Executive Summary

I am currently the Chairman of Civil Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering in Koya
University. I have MSc qualification in Structural Engineering from the University of Sheffield/ UK and
my BSc is in Building Construction from the University of Sulaimani/ Iraq.

Since my graduation in 2001 and up to 2013, I worked in many private and public sectors in the fields
such as project supervision and management, tendering process, most of construction-related
committees and also as a designer for various civil-engineering projects. I have worked as Supervisor
engineer, office and designer engineer, and as administrative director of projects as well. With an
experience of 16 years, I have recently achieved the rank of a civil engineering consultant.

In the academic field, with 68.69% and being fourth out of 23 students, I was ranked to be among the
top graduates. I have later been qualified for a scholarship by my government and have successfully
done my MSc in 2014. Since 2015, I changed my career destination and have worked as a lecturer in
the faculty of Engineering in Koya University. In Jul 2016, I have been appointed as the Chairman of
Civil Engineering Department despite of my job as lecturer. To this end and with strong steps, I plan to
begin my PhD study in the near future.
