FYI Corner
Take It Outside!
This is the time in Kansas when going outside is at its best. With
few exceptions, going outside is easy to do. During the “heat” of
the summer, changing the daily schedule helps to expedite outdoor
time. Going out early in the morning or late in the afternoon makes
outside time more comfortable for adults and children.

Activities done inside can also be done outside. The children enjoy
the change of venue plus messy activities are more fun outside! The
pegs and beads for stringing, the blocks, the legos, drawing activities, sensory tub activities, books and
dramatic play activities are lots of fun on the patio or under the tree. Snacks and lunches are a must
outside during this time of year. Children love picnics.

Taking activities outside is exciting for the children and expands the available space for children. So, join
the movement and take the children outside!
