Properties of Pure Substances

Introduction:

The objective of this lab was to observe, and in some cases quantify, a
number of physical properties of pure substances including boiling,
freezing, sublimation, and triple-point behavior. The two pure
substances used were H2O (water) and t-butanol. When dealing with
the H2O, it was brought to a boil were multiple tests were applied to
observe the different results due to changes in pressure and
temperature. The triple point of t-butanol was experimentally
observed through a setup depicted in the lab procedures as well as
its boiling point and freezing point.
