Feedback:

There are students with learning difficulties which may require extra attention/instruction.
Some students may be reluctant to work and/or easily distracted, therefore explicit, repeated instructions
may be required. Also some are nervous or unsure about using certain equipment, reassurance and
guidance may be needed.
Ensure you speak clearly and in simple terms and demonstrate processes where appropriate. You may
need to repeat/demonstrate the instructions multiple times.
The tasks give students equal opportunities to participate and demonstrate the appropriate skills.
Equipment/resources required:
Equipment includes: lathes, chisels, mallet, files, marking gauges, tenon saw, coping saw, nail punch,
hammer, electric sander, disc sander, drum sander, drill press, lacquer, marking / measuring equipment,
clamps, glue, table-vice, and bench hook.
Teacher assisted equipment: bandsaw, table saw and setting up lathe.
Requires students to comprehend and communicate safety guidelines and use appropriate terminology.
Requires students to apply shape, size, angles, appropriate proportions and measurement knowledge.
WH&S issues:
The safe and responsible use and maintenance of materials, tools and techniques.
Risks include but not limited to: cuts, grazes, abrasions, crushes, splinters, projectiles, and dust/noise
exposure.
General: Moving around the workshop and potential interpersonal issues.

Notes:
Phoebe had to remake the project several times and is showing signs of temper/frustration she has a habit
of a temper and walking out of class - monitor carefully and unobtrusively help where possible (subtly help
as constant questioning or offers of help will only increase frustration)
Phoebe is almost done her project
Angus has learning difficulties and often doesnt have correct footwear - set work and monitor, he is doing a
wooden spoon.
Some students often try to not work and they will also ask the teacher to do it for them when they are
capable of doing it themselves but doesnt want to need to be constantly monitored and motivated
One group tend to chat and egg each other into misbehaving - monitor and provide continual feedback and
instructions for their work
A few of the good workers will do their work but get easily distracted by chatting monitor and redirect to
work as necessary
Miky has promised to glue her project and draw out her drawer, get on to her.
Ensure the students whom cut their towel rack materials out, are marking out the sides and using the
coping saws.
Josh needs to find or recut his sides of his towel rack
Make sure that Jayden sands, nail punches and finishes his salt rack
Kye was upset yesterday check on him then set to work
