Post of Chief Engineer (Civil/ Mechanical & Electrical)/

Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)/
Engineering Assistant (Civil/ Mechanical/Electrical)/ Project Accountant
Project Secretary/Quantity Surveyor & Sociologist

Applications are hereby invited from citizens of Sri Lanka for vacancies mentioned above. The applicants should
possess the following qualifications:

Preference will be given to those candidates who

1. POST OF CHIEF ENGINEER have experience in Water Supply Projects, Pipe
(Civil & Mechanical & Electrical) - laying & rehabilitation works.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

B.Sc.Eng. (Sri Lanka) in Civil / Mechanical & 2. POST OF ENGINEER

Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications (CIVIL/ELECTRICAL / MECHANICAL)
& Membership from a recognized institution of
Engineers with 8 years post Qualifying experience QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
as an Engineer in the Government or reputed
Private Sector Organization. B.Sc.Eng. (Sri Lanka) in Civil/Electrical /
OR Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
B.Sc.Eng. (Sri Lanka) in Civil / Mechanical & qualifications.
Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications
& 10 years post qualifying experience as an Preference will be given to those candidates who
Engineer in the Government or reputed Private have experience in Design and Construction of
Sector Organization. Water Purification Plants, Intakes and Ground
Reservoirs, Pipe Laying.
 3. POST OF ENGINEERING ASSISTANTS
(CIVIL/ MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
NDT / HNDE / NDES of NAB / Diploma in
Technology Open University of Sri Lanka in Civil/
Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent qualifications.
OR
NCT in Civil/ Mechanical/Electrical (Previously
known as certificate in Engineering awarded by
Commissioner of Examination) with 05 years post
qualifying experience (in the relevant field in public
and Corporate sector or a recognized institution in
the private sector) as a Technician.
Preference will be given to those candidates who
have experience in Construction of Water Treatment
Plants, Intake, Reservoirs, Pipe laying and other
Construction activities.
4. PROJECT ACCOUNTANT
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A Member of the Institute of Charted Accountants
or Charted Institute of Management Accountants
or any other recognized professional qualification
or post Graduate Qualification (Master/ Diploma)
in the relevant field and minimum of 8 years post
qualifying experience at senior management level
with exposure to financial and management
accounting.
Or
Class 01 Officer of Sri Lanka Accountant Service or
similar status in the relevant field with a minimum of
08 years experience in class II/I level
Preference will be given to Public servants/ those
who have worked in foreign funded projects.
Candidate should be Computer literate and familiar
with MS Office, Accounting and other software
packages. Proficiency in written and spoken English
language is essential.
5. POST OF PROJECT SECRETARY -
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
GCE (O/L) in 06 Subjects with minimum of three
credit passes including English and Sinhala/ Tamil
language with a secretarial course from a recognized
institution or pursuing examinations leading to
Charted Secretary with minimum of 5 years
experience.
OR
A Charted Secretary with 3 years experience.
6. QUANTITY SURVEYOR
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
B.Sc. Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
Qualification in Quantity Surveying
6. POST OF SOCIOLOGIST
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
B.A. (Special) Degree in Sociology.

SALARY SCALE : Salaries are based on the
Management Services Circulars
LOCATIONS : Island wide
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
The appointments will be on contract basis initially
for a period of one year renewable annually, subject
to satisfactory performance appraisal. All conditions
in the Management Services Circulars will apply in
relation to the appointment.

qualifications and experience, will be called for an
interview and selection will be based on the
performance at the interview.
