1 (i). Study the characteristics of Hartnell Governor and draw the graph between centrifugal force and
radius of the governor. Mass of each ball = 0.65 Kg.

1(ii) Determine the natural frequency of free transverse vibration of a steel shaft with cantilever
condition subject to uniformly distrusted load and concentrated load. Compare the results
with theoretical frequency values.

2 (i). Study the Jump characteristics of the cam with different weights and plot the graph between the
follower displacement(S) and the angle of rotation () of the cam

2(ii) Determine the natural frequency of free transverse vibration of a steel shaft with cantilever
condition subject to uniformly distrusted load and concentrated load. Compare the results
with theoretical frequency values.

(3) (i) Study the characteristics of Porter Governor and draw the graph between centrifugal force and
radius of the governor.

(ii) Determine the radius of gyration of the given rectangular bar theoretically and verify the results
experimentally using the Bifilar suspension. Take minimum four readings.

4 (i) Determine the natural frequency of free transverse vibration of a free-free beam subject to
uniformly distrusted load and concentrated load. Compare the results with theoretical
frequency values.

experimentally using the biifilar suspension. Take minimum three readings.

5 (i) Determine the natural frequency of the given undamped spring mass theoretically and verify the
results experimentally by varying the effective length .

(ii) Determine the gyroscopic couple produced in the motorized gyroscope for different masses.
Compare the theoretical and experimental values of couples.
6 (i) Determine the radius of gyration of the given rectangular bar theoretically and verify the results
experimentally using the Bifilar suspension. Take minimum three readings.

(ii) Determine the natural frequency of the given undamped spring mass theoretically and verify the
results experimentally by varying the effective masses.

7 (i) Determine the natural frequency values of steel/brass/copper shaft by applying free torsional
vibration in a single rotor system and compare the results with theoretical frequency values.

(ii) Determine the radius of gyration and mass moment of inertia of the given aluminum shaft by
Compound Pendulum Method. Take mass of shaft as 0.73 kg.

8 (i) Determine the radius of gyration and mass moment of inertia of the circular disc theoretically and
verify the results experimentally using the turn table apparatus. Take minimum four readings.

(ii) Determine the radius of gyration and mass moment of inertia of the given aluminum shaft by
Compound Pendulum Method. Take mass of shaft as 0.73 kg.
