Plan of Action: Carson is a 7th grade that is in the basic math class.
Talking with his teacher, she feels like Carson does well at adding,
subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. However, he really struggles
with knowing the correct order of solving multi-step problems. He also
does not know how to solve for story problems. Over the next few
weeks I am going to give Carson an informal math assessment to
determine what targeted math we need to work on. I will be meeting
with him twice this week to monitor his progress and at the beginning
of the following week I will give him a informal post assessment to see
if Carson made progress.
CCSS:
7.EE.A.1- Expression& Equation- Use properties of operations to
generate equivalent expressions.
7.EE.B.4- Expressions & Equations- Solve real-life and mathematical
problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations.

Progress Monitoring:
Monday- During homework time Carson was pulled aside and taught
an explicit lesson on CCSS: 7.EE.A.1. I did the I do, we do, you do
strategy with him to help him get retention of the math equation. It
also helped me as a teacher see what steps in the equation he was not
quite understanding. He was given three math equations to work on by
himself. Out of the three equations Carson answered 2 out of the 3
correct.
