Auto-Slide
The Model AFPRS 3/4 Power Slides are designed with larger component blocks, shafting and bearings to accommodate your
heavier work application requirements, while still offering all of the streamline features of our other power slide models.
Our AFPRBD Auto-Slides are constructed of the same high quality materials as our cylinder powered linear Auto-Slides.
We have designed these slides with an air cylinder between the guide rods which provides extremely rigid construction.
We have also designed them to be adjustable at all four end stops. These slides are capable of handling a wide variety of
applications while utilizing a minimum amount of table space.

Cylinder Powered Bi-Directional
Auto-Slide
The Model AFPRBD is a bi-directional power slide comprised of two cylinder powered slides mounted at 90 degree angles.
Even though this item is able to handle multiple tasks, we have kept the overall size of it compact. Excellent choice for
multi-directional design applications including x-y tables, walking beams and pick & place devices. The AFPRBD unit
comes standard with self-aligning linear ball bearings.

Cam Operated Shuttle
Auto-Slide
The AFCS series of Auto-Slides are constructed of high quality materials and are designed with a rugged vertical drive shaft
between the guide rods that provides extremely rigid construction. The AFCS unit comes standard with self-aligning ball
bearings. This compact unit is available in two sizes and provides mounting for end effector tooling. Application examples
include shuttling parts from one conveyor to another and loading parts onto a cleated conveyor.
The Model AFCS continuous shuttle uses a rotating disk and crank that are attached to the rear endplate. These
components create a smooth reciprocating motion. The input shaft is supported by dual ball bearings pressed into the main
body. The crank arm rotates using bearings on hardened pins. Hardened and ground shafts riding in recirculating ball
bushing bearings give the shuttle an extremely low coefficient of friction for effortless motion. This shuttle can be powered
by a variety of drive sources such as: gear motor with one revolution clutch, steeping motor, AC or DC servo motor, or geared
directly from an existing machine. The low cost and high accuracy of this unit makes it an ideal choice for many shuttle
applications.

Linear Roller Slide
Auto-Slide
Our basic Auto-Slide features lightweight aluminum construction in both the center body and the end plates. Recirculating
ball bearings are standard. Extra thick felt wipers provide good absorption and distribution of lubricant and eliminate most
foreign matter. These slides can be mounted rigidly in any position by the endplates or the center body.

Our air cylinder powered Auto-Slide products are available with adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers. These
shock absorbers are externally mounted on all slide units for ease of adjustment. These shocks are not intended
to be used as end stops. All Auto-Slides are equipped with adjustable end-of stroke stops. These stops must be
set so that the shock absorber does not travel its full stroke and internally bottom its piston, which would cause
damage to the shock absorber.
Auto-Slide products are available with proximity sensors to indicate end of travel. The proximity sensors used on
these units are manufactured with high quality stainless steel barrels. 8mm and larger have detachable cords.
5mm proximity sensors are available for grippers. 8mm and 12mm proximity sensors are available for slides, bi-
directionals, and pick & place units.

Rod deflection is calculated by multiplying the weight of the slide and any tooling by the value in the chart shown below.
Begin by adding the slide weight from chart #1 below and any additional tooling or supports added to the moving portion of
the slide. This is the total weight the rods must support. Next, determine the approximate distance between the end plates
in the supporting axis of the slide. Find the distance in chart #2 below, find the value listed in that column for the rod
diameter of the slide you are using. Now multiply the total slide weight by the value listed in that column for the rod
diameter of the slide you are using. Now multiply the total slide weight by the value from chart #2. This is the amount that
the rods will deflect with the slide centered between the supporting end plates
