Processed foods are foods treated and prepared by special method especially in
preserving them. Food processing is the transformation of raw material into food and it
involves different ways like fermenting, sun drying, preserving with salt and other more.
They are less susceptible and better suited for long transportation from the source to the
consumer.
In 1809, Nicholas appert invented a hermetic technique that will preserve food and
develop a method of sealing food in jars. Benefits of food processing include toxic removal,
preservation and food consistency. It also increases the availability of food, enables
transportation of perishable foods across long distances and safe to eat by deactivating
spoilage and pathogenic microorganisms. In the Philippines, food processing is the most
dominant industry, which contributes to the economy and to labor force. It contributes
50% to the total countrys manufacturing output.
In our province of ilocos sur, we also have these foods processing industry, which
involve the making of the famous longganiza and bagnet. Top two in the list of Ilocano
foods that are in great demand and we can say that these products can also be compare
to international products because of their taste, quality and uniqueness.
In this feasibility proposal, we would like to innovate a new way of presenting our
very own food delicacies the longganiza and bagnet in different wat through bottling it. We
will produce products with high quality and satisfaction to the local and foreign customers.
By means of this, we can also promote our products to other countries and help the local
industry and tourism of Ilocos sur. Another reason why we come up with this kind of
feasibility proposal is that we as the proponents would also like to test the demandability
of our product compared to the products offered by local market and enhance our skills in
terms of manufacturing an innovative product and on how to present it to the market.
Good afternoon to our dearest panelist. I am Gester Paul Rondon and Audie Anthony
Palpal-latoc, third year accountancy students here to present our feasibility proposal
named Villa Fernandina Longganiza and Bagnet Embotellado: A food-manufacturing firm
in ilocos sur.
I will be presenting the highlights of the study and Chapter 2: the Research
Methodology. The highlights of the proposed study is that the name of the firm would be
Villa Fernandina Longganiza and Bagnet Embotellado: Food Manufacturing Firm in Ilocos
Sur. The names were derived from Spanish words that mean the old name of Vigan and
bottled. The proposed location would be at Tamag, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur considering the
access to market, transportation and labor. We opted to have a general partnership
contributing 1,500,000 pesos each. Our venture will manufacture processed longganiza
and bagnet in different flavors that is packed in a bottle. The proposed venture will
manufacture healthy, safe and well-preserved food.
Our Data Gathering instruments are a Questionnaire and an Interview. Both were
devised in order to gather data and further information. Our interview is an
unstandardized one because it is open and flexible and we made use of an interview
guide.
The statistical treatments that we think are the most appropriate based on our
instruments are the simple frequency count and percentage distribution method and 5-
point Likert scale. If our proposal will be defended, we can now pursue the data analysis
and interpretation.
Q: Why did you choose Purposive-Quota Sampling?
A: The researcher uses his good judgment in selecting the respondents who best meet the purpose
of his study. & group is generally represented in the sample in the same proportion as in the
population.
Q: What method will you use / is the best when you will preserve the product?
A: One way on how to preserve meat is by salting. This is a process wherein the chop meat is mixed
by salt in order to preserve this. After this procedure, add hot water to it and then mixed it until free
in bubble. After that let the meat in the can cook in pressure in 55 minutes and then cool it down.
Q: How long does the product last?
A:Bottled meat is shelf stable and has a shelf life of 5-7 years. Copyright 2016 -

Q: Where will you get the suppliers of the bottles?
A:Our suppliers would be at Unlipack bottles and containers Philippines that is worth 25.63 pesos
each @ 500ml.
Q: Is your capital sufficient enough? What triggered you to think of that amount?
A: Yes. We just decided realisticly
Q: What method will you use / is the best when you will preserve the product?
A: Salting. When cooked it will be sterilized
Q:How can your product be healthy?
A: We would choose the best quality of raw materials and add vitamins.
