na cha ruupaM vinaa dhyaatuM kenapi shakyate ..

sarva ruupa nivR^ittaa hi buddhiH kutraasya tiShThati .


nivR^ittaa glaayate buddhir nidrayaa vaa pariiyate ..
tasmaad vidvaan upaasiita buddhyaa saakaram eva tam .
asti tasya parokSha tad iti ki~Nchid anusmaret ..
sarvathaa akaaram uddiShTa na parityajya paNDitaH ..
##Without a form how can God be meditated upon? If he is completely formless,
where will the mind fix itself? When there is nothing for the mind to attach its
elf to it
will slip away from meditation, or will glide into a state of slumber. Therefore
the
wise will meditate on some form, remembering however that it is an indirect meth
od,
a particularization or indication of that which is completely formless.##
