Teacher Name: Cody Verhulst

Lesson Plans for the dates of: January 17-19, 2013

Course/Period: Computer Applications I

What are the weekly or ongoing objectives?

1. Learn how to properly start up and shut down a computer

2. Identify special keys on the keyboard
3. Create folders, and open, save, and move documents in them
4. Master all short cut keys to enable more efficient work

Are there any special circumstances that may affect timing (pep assembly,
difficulties students typically experience?)

I anticipate students to be tired and grouchy due to this being the class after MLK
day, and that it is the first real lesson in which they will dive into the operating
system of the computers. I will have planned meaningful and transferrable lessons
to not only improve classroom management but to also boost student learning and
interest.

Tuesday January 17th

Assessment (How will I check for student understanding? How will I know they met the
goal?)

The group activity will serve as a form of formative assessment and the quizlet will also serve as an
informal assessment. Todays discussion group presentations and exit tickets will give me a reflection
on what the students leaned as most important from today. The group activity will also give me a
better feel for my classroom climate and what I will need to do to continue to maintain a classroom
that is well managed yet welcoming for all students. I will reflect on their feedback from the exit
tickets and use it to monitor/modify my instruction for the 19th.
