her husband, Dungarbhai, a daily
wager, has been diagnosed with oral
cancer recently. Vaishali and her
brother Sagar have to study as well as

often. Ratanben is trying hard to
gather money for Dungarbhais
surgery and chemotherapy. After the
demonetization, many of the cottage-
based works have stalled in our area. Last month, I borrowed a
lot of money from my neighbours for my husbands treatment,
says Ratanben. She has already taken loans of `60,000. She has
not been able to pay Vaishalis fees of `2,500 pending over
several months. Ratanben claimed that at one point she was
thinking of asking Vaishali to take a drop. The Pasti ki Masti
team paid Vaishalis fees.
