The Effect of Personality Type and Workload towards Burnout Syndrome on

Student of Undergraduate Nursing Study Program Level III-A In Pre-Clinical

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The Burnout syndrome is a psychological condition which unable


to cope with long-term stress characterized by emotional exhaustion,
depersonalization, and decreased personal achievement. Based on a survey of the
students of level III-B in Undergraduate Nursing Study Program found that 10
respondents (67%) of the 15 respondents stated that have increase stress during
the pre-clinical practice.
Method: This study analyzes the effect of simultaneous personality types and
workload towards the burnout syndrome. This study is quantitative research it use
Multiple Linier Regression test. The population in this study is 56 students. Taking
sample amounted to 49 respondents.

Result: The result show a significant effect simultaneously that is shown in the
results of ANOVA with a probability of 0.000 significant at = 0.05 (p value < )
which means personality type and workload influence simultaneously to burnout
syndrome.
Discussion: The effect of personality types and workload of the burnout syndrome
showed a strong influence and a positive pattern. Nursing students are expected
to be able to adapt better to the working environment, the duties and obligations
that must be implemented by a health worker.
