After initial literature survey and completion of process flow sheet, we have been

started the Mass balance calculation.

At the starting of Mass balance calculation, we calculate the water requirement as
per the stoichiometry of reaction , but we came to know that actual requirement of
the water is 3 time the original water requirement. So got little confused about it
until we read a document on the requirement of the raw material in caustic soda
processing.
At present we are still doing the work on the mass balance calculation and we got
stuck in little little problem such as feed concentration of depleted brine to the
dechlorination unit. So we are going to contact our project guide to solve this
problem.
We referred a book - stoichiometry by Bhatt and Thakore, literatures on the
calculation of whole process plant mass balance.
