About Our Country
The country we are doing is INDIA. India is in the
South Asia region.
This is a map of the Asia region India is in:
Flag
Indias flag is a national flag, it contains 4
colours. These colours represent:
Saffron/Orange:The Saffron/Orange colour is
the top band of the flag; it represents the
strength and courage of the country.
White: The White colour is the middle band of
the flag; it represents peace and truth of the
country.
Navy Blue:On the flag there is a Dharma Chakra
which is navy blue and is on top of the white,
middle strip. This Ashoka Chakrarepresents a 24-
spoken wheel which mostly refers to India but
other countries as well.
Green:The Green colour is the bottom band of
the flag; it represents the richness, growth and
the land.
Absolute Location of India
The absolute location refers to the Longitude and
Latitude of that country. The Longitude of India is
20.5937 N (North) and the Latitude of India is
78.9629 E (East).
The Distance from Australia to India
The distance from Australia to India is 7,809km in
total.
The Area of India
The total area of India is 3.287 million Km.

Climate
India is home to a variety of climatic regions,
ranging from tropical in the South to temperature
and alpine in the Himalayan North. Thus is where
elevated regions receive sustained winter
snowfall.
The Nations climate strongly influenced by the
Himalayas and Thor Desert.
Major Types of climate found in India:
1. The cold weather seasons (December
February)
Coldest month Temperature between 10-15
degrees in Northern India and 25 degrees in
Southern India.
2. The Hot weather seasons (March May)
Temperature starts rising by middle of March and
the middle of May reaching 41-42 degrees.
Temperature even exceeds 45 degrees in area of
Central and North-West India. Feature is the Loo:
Hot and Dry wind that causes heat stroke.
3. The Rainy Season (June September)
Inflow of South-Westerly Monsoon brings seasons
of rain bursting in the first week of June and
earlier in coastal areas.
4. The season of Retreating South-West Monsoon
(October November).
The amount of rainfall in India is averaged to
300650 millimetres but is very unreliable in
most of India, the southwest monsoon accounts
for most precipitation.

The land features of India are these 3 main land


areas, these areas include:
1. The Great Mountain Walls are about 2500 km
long and its width varies from 240 km to 320 km.
On the high point of The Great Mountain walls, it
is covered with snow but on the bottom, it is dry
with very little rainfall.
2. The Great Indo Gangetic Plain embraces the
valleys of India and is one of the main attractions
in India.
3. The Great Deccan Plateau lies in the South of
India and is full of hills, mountains and forests
that provide opportunities to build many buildings

Biomes
By the Second week of September monsoon
begins to retreat weather during the season is
characterised by high day temperatures, but
nights that are pleasant which temperatures goes
down to 20 degrees or lower.

seashores, deserts and flat terrains. The country
is known to be a travellers paradise.
