Gender Revolution Reaction Paper

The Gender Revolution is a documentary created by National

Geographic which follows Katie Couric around as she interviews people about

their experiences with breaking out of the gender binary. She interviews

specialists, intersex and transgender and other binary non-conforming

people, and the families of transgender children to learn more about their

experiences and what gender means to people today. She receives a variety

of perspectives and attempts to be educational, but in the end the film

inadequately explained the concept of gender and oversimplified and

othered people who break the gender binary in a way that does not fit the

title Gender Revolution.
