Commendatory Letter for Daniel Lucero

Dear Captain Gallagher,

I am writing regarding one of your officers, Daniel Lucero. A few weeks

ago, I was trying to catch a flight and just as I was driving into the terminal
east area my tire went flat. I pulled over to the side of the road but I was still
precariously near the road with a lot of traffic going by. Officer Lucero
eventually spotted me while I was waiting on AAA. He turned his lights on,
turned his cruiser around, and came up behind my car to provide a safety
net. He also called someone from the airport to help change my tire since
AAA was already 40 minutes late. This was 7:30 am and my flight left at
8:21. He was very concerned about me missing my flight and my very
important business meeting in Tucson, where I was just going for the day.
After the tire was fixed, he escorted me to the parking garage where we were
told the short term parking was full. It was now 8! So he offered to park my
car for me, leave the keys with the dispatcher, and leave me a message
letting me know where he parked my car. We then raced into the airport, got
my boarding pass from Frontier, raced to security and finally, the gate,
where I boarded the plane at 8:20. He saw me all the way through,
explaining to everyone why we had to rush. When I landed that evening, I
had a message from Officer Lucero telling me he had also moved my purse
to the back of my car so that no one would be tempted to break in! I grabbed
the keys from the dispatcher and the car was parked just where he said it
was.

Sincerely,
Diana Fredericks Assistant Regional Director RE/MAX International, Inc

Commendatory Letter for Officers St. Peter and Harvey

On 09-26-09, District One officers were dispatched to 414 W. 43rd Avenue

on a report of a domestic violence situation. Upon arrival, the officers
discovered that the victim, Chantelle Jewitt (06-21-88), had been the victim
of a physical assault by her boyfriend, Evan Anderson (09-19-87).
Furthermore, the assault had taken place in the presence of the couple’s
infant son, Torrian Anderson (06-12-09). The subsequent investigation
resulted in the arrest of Evan Anderson for DOMV charges as well as the
arrest of Chantelle Jewitt on outstanding warrants. Ms. Jewitt’s mother,
Mavis Jewitt, was visiting the couple from South Dakota at the time of the
assault and agreed to take temporary custody of her infant grandson.
Officers St. Peter and Harvey transported Mavis Jewitt and her grandson to
her hotel, located at 7800 E. Tufts Avenue, in District Three. While en route,
Mrs. Jewitt advised the officers that she had adopted Chantelle and
Chantelle’s brother when the children were elementary school-age. She
indicated that she had never taken care of a baby as she had provided foster
care to older children and was unsure what articles and items she would
need. Officers St. Peter and Harvey, both fathers of young children
themselves, realized that Mrs. Jewitt had none of the essential items
necessary for the care of an infant so they stopped at the King Soopers at
South Monaco Pkwy and E. Hampden Ave. While there, the officers helped
Mrs. Jewitt obtain formula, bottles, diapers, and various other sundries. The
officers then transported Mrs. Jewitt to her hotel and showed her how to
measure and mix formula, feed and burp her grandson, and change his
diaper. Mrs. Jewitt was overwhelmed by the officers’ display of compassion
and called the Internal Affairs Bureau upon her return home to commend
Officers St. Peter and Harvey. Mrs. Jewitt praised the officers for their
extraordinary kindness and their willingness to take the additional time to
help her and her grandson during this most difficult time.
