CONVOCATORY

MISSION COUNCILS OF THE IFI DIOCESE OF MASBATE

As official response to the request of the Diocesan Council of the IFI Diocese of Masbate received on
February 20, 2017 and in faithful compliance of Chapter 3, Section 8 of the Canons of our Church, we hereby
summon and assemble the Special Convention of the IFI Diocese of Masbate on March 25, 2017, Saturday, at
Masbate Cathedral Church, Placer, Masbate, to elect one out of the below-mentioned nominees as the official
candidate for episcopal election in the Supreme Council of Bishops, namely

Revd Allan Caparro Diocese of LeySaBil

Revd Elgen Escobal Diocese of Dinagat
Revd Renelito Invento Diocese of Masbate

who were earlier selected by the Diocesan Search Committee of the said IFI Diocese of Masbate during its
January 6, 2017 Meeting at Marcella Parish, Marcella, Masbate. The Special Convention of the IFI Diocese
of Masbate, through the Presiding Officer, is however directed to exclude for consideration any nominee who
is subject of a formal complaint lodged at the SCB and received by the SCB Chairperson after it has issued
the Convocatory Letter to summon the Special Convention.

The Provisional Bishop of the IFI Diocese of Masbate, The Most Revd Ephraim S. Fajutagana, is then
directed to put in place the preparation, leading to the actual conduct, of the Special Convention as scheduled,
taking judicious notice of our Canons [Chapter 3, Section 23] which provides that

A diocesan convention, whether convened for the election of a Diocesan Bishop or for any
other purpose, shall consist of all bishops, priests, canons, deacons serving in the diocese, the
Diocesan Council, and two other laymen, two laywomen, and two youths elected by their
respective accredited organizations from each parish and mission of the diocese.

Attached herewith are copies of the Agenda of the Special Convention, the Procedure in Conducting Special
Convention to Elect a Candidate for Episcopal Election and the Enabling Mechanisms for the Consideration
of Nominees for the reference of the Diocese. The undersigned or his authorized representative is coming to
preside over the said Special Convention.

We enjoin everyone and all the churches and congregations of the IFI Diocese of Masbate to pray for this
forthcoming gathering. May God bless this undertaking.
