Research and Development

Manufacturing quality products means setting standards. To adhere to these
standards, all the processes have to be under the purview of trained eyes. To
Constantly upgrade the efficiency and quality of its products, RCL taps the
potential of its in-house Research & Development facility. RCL's Centralized
Research & Development department is equipped with advanced data
processing equipment to facilitate material composition analysis and various
other tests.
Quality Control
It is to be noted that
the most important
factor in obtaining
quality Tips and Inserts
is controlling the physical
and chemical properties
at every stage of operation. The chemical lab has facilities to analyze the
impurity levels present in Tungsten Tri Oxide, Tungsten Metal and Tungsten
Carbide. The physical laboratory has facilities to check the micro-structure,
hardness, specific gravity, coercive force, transverse rupture strength,
porosity etc., of the sintered products, The rigid quality control at RCL has
enabled it to meet the exact requirements of Engineering Industry.RCL is an
ISO 9001 : 2000 Certified Company (by RWTUV)

PRODUCT PROFILE
MINING

Tungsten Carbide Mining Products are subjected to very severe working

conditions, against heavy natural odds. Here the quality of Rapicut products
is put to real test which it passes with flying colors. Rapicut has introduced
different mining grades to suit Indian Geological conditions. Our mining
grades are designed to work efficiently in various formations like Granite,
Basalt, Sandstone, Quartzite and even in soft formation like Lime and Coal.

DRILL STEEL INSERTS

Rapicut Drill Steel Inserts (D S Inserts) are brazed on Integral Drill Steel Rods
to drill the hole for blasting. Rapicut has successfully designed and
developed the grade which gives longer life, greater reliability and increased
fatigue strength. Rapicut is the Market Leader in India for quality DSI.
The Range of Drill Steel Inserts manufactured by Rapicut is shown below
OCTAGONAL/ SQUARE INSERTS
Octagonal and Square Inserts are used in Core Bits for Rotary drilling in
exploration work. Rapicut has established itself as a leading supplier of these
products. These inserts are manufactured in various sizes with 10 or 15
degree rakeangle.

Rapicut has a special grade for these Inserts which offers faster penetration
rate and failure-free service.

TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BUTTONS

Rapicut has developed Tungsten Carbide Buttons in various grades suitable for use in
products like Down The Hole Drilling Bits, Tricon Rock Roller Bits, Special bits required for
underground cable laying, etc.

Rapicut can supply the buttons in ground and tumbled finish which facilitates perfect fitting
in shank.

BWE INSERTS

To mine Brown Coal or Lignite from open cast mines a special technique called Bucket Wheel
Excavation (BWE) is used. The wheel of excavator is provided with buckets which have
sharp teeth to rip the soil and excavate the sediment. Rapicut has developed a grade which
is highly wear resistant and tough enough to withstand any impact loading.
CARSET / CROSS BIT INSERTS

Modern Rock Drilling operations place ever increasing demand on the drilling tools. The life
of Drill Tools depends on the right carbide grade.Rapicut has developed grades for Carset/
Cross bits, 4-Point Bits, Retrac Bits and many other types. Each insert and grade is specially
designed to meet stringent performance requirements.

WEAR PARTS
Rapicut has enabled many Indian Industries to go in for Tungsten Carbide
Wear parts where previously Hardened Steel and Steel alloys were being
used. Various grades and Tungsten Carbide Sintered Wear Parts for metal
forming and Wear resistant applications are available in the following range.
MECHANICAL SEAL RINGS
Rapicut Tungsten Carbide Seal Rings are used as Mechanical Seal faces in
pumps, Compressors and Agitators. These are used in Oil Refineries,
Petrochemical plants, Fertilizer Plants, and Drugs/Pharmaceutical Industries.

Mechanical seal rings are developed to withstand high temperature, high

pressure & highly corrosive chemical attack. Rapicut manufactures Rings in
various shapes like Plain Ring, DA type, T-shape, L-shape and in shapes as
per customers requirement.

Tungsten Carbide Rings are generally made with Cobalt as binder material.
Nickel bonded Rings also can be supplied.
PELLETS / NIBS

To serve the Metal Drawing Industry Rapicut manufactures Wire, Bar and
Tube Drawing Pellets. A high hardness combined with good toughness is
provided to withstand extremes of temperature and pressure. The wear
resistance property can lead to extended die life while achieving desired
quality of material drawn such as surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

JUTE EYELETS

Tungsten Carbide wear parts used in spinning and weaving machinery

particularly in jute industry are eyelets. These are to prevent vibration/
deflection of jute thread at high speed. Rapicut Tungsten Carbide jute eyelets
give long uninterrupted running of the machine.
Jute eyelets are available in different sizes and shapes namely Half moon,
Flyer leg Insert, N-K eye, P/spindle eye, N-K strip, Small carbide eye, Big
carbide eye, Nozzle eye, etc.

METAL CUTTING
Rapicut manufactures 2000 different varieties of standard tips
conforming to ISO (International Standard), BSS (British Standard), SMS
(Swedish Standard) and DIN (German Standard). Rapicut has
developed its Sintered Metal Cutting Grades conforming to ISO
standards.

Other than standard tips, Rapicut continuously tries to develop custom-

built special tips for various industries like Automobile, Engineering,
Shoe Accessories, Textile, Sugar, etc. Some of the prominent products
developed successfully are Blanks for Rotary Burrs, Tips for form tools,
flats for knives, Scarfer tools, tips for grooving tools, rods for boring
tools, slitting cutter blanks, etc.

Comparative
financial statements

What are comparative financial statements?

Comparative financial statements are the complete set of financial
statements that an entity issues, revealing information for more than one
accounting period. The financial statements that may be included in this
package are:

The income statement (showing results for multiple periods)

The balance sheet (showing the financial position of the entity as of

more than one balance sheet date)

The statement of cash flows (showing the cash flows for more than one
period)

Another variation on the comparative concept is to report information for

each of the 12 preceding months on a rolling basis. Comparative financial
statements are quite useful for the following reasons:

Provides a comparison of an entity's financial performance over

multiple periods, so that you can determine trends (horizontal analysis). The
statements may also reveal unusual spikes in the reported information that
can indicate the presence of accounting errors.

Provides a comparison of expenses to revenues and the proportions of

various items on the balance sheet over multiple periods ( vertical analysis).
This information can be useful for cost management purposes.

May be useful for predicting future performance, though you should

rely more on operational indicators and leading indicators than on historical
performance for this type of analysis.
