REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2012-478

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS A-20 AND E-1, ARTICLE ill
OF REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2009-217, "AN ORDINANCE RE-
ETABLISHING PEDESTRIAN LANES AND STOP LINES IN THE CITY OF
ILOILO"

Sponsored by Councilor R Leone N. Gerochi, duly seconded by

Councilors Ely A. Estante, Jr. and Rodel F. Agado K
WHEREAS, Sections A-20 and E-1 of Article ill ofRegulation Ordinance No. 2009-217
established pedestrian lanes at or near the approach of the said vehicular overpasses;

WHEREAS, the said pedestrian lanes pose danger to the pedestrians by reason of the
vehicular overpasses thus the subject pedestrian lanes have been closed by makeshift barricades
to discourage the public from crossing the street at the said areas;

WHEREAS, there is a need to amend the existing ordinance to avoid confusion and to
promote public welfare and safety.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of

Iloilo, that:

Section 1. - The pedestrian lanes within one hundred (100) meters from the approach of
the Infante and Jalandoni vehicular overpasses be removed;

Section 2. -The pedestrian lanes in front of the University of San Agustin be transferred
near the intersection of Mabini and Gen. Luna Streets;

Section 3. - Copy of this ordinance be furnished the Transportation Management and

Traffic Regulation Office;

Section 4. - This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval.
