Magical Ladakh

The sights and sounds of Leh & Ladakh are like no place else in the world. The roads are barren and
surrounded by breathtaking mountain ranges capped with snow. They seem to be unending as you
travel from one place to another and one is left wishing for this to never end. From momo stops to trying
out the local cuisine that has a Tibetan influence, this trip promises to be ride of a life time for travellers
who feel at home amidst mountains and first timers are sure to be awed by the purity of the landscapes
here. Known amongst many as the land of passes, this is also one of the coldest deserts in the world
bound by the worlds highest mountain ranges Himalayas and Karakoram.

Day 1: Leh
Arrival Leh by flight, you will meet our representative at airport and transfer to Hotel. Enjoy a
traditional welcome at the hotel with Khataks and welcome tea and coffee. Freshen up and take rest for
the remaining day to get acclimatized to the high altitude of 3524 Meters (11,500 ft). Later in the
evening visit Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa & the Central Asian Museum. Dinner and Overnight will be at the
hotel.

DAY 2: Monastery Tour


After breakfast we head for a full day sightseeing tour. We visit o Shey Palace, Thiksey and Hemis
Monastery, (museum & royal residence). Hemis is situated 45 Km west of Ladakh, and it is one of the
wealthiest and largest monasteries of Ladakh. Later we drive back the same route to visit Thiksey
Monastery which is famous for its gigantic statue of Maitreya Buddha. Lastly we visit Shey Palace, the
summer hub of Namgyal Dynasty kings and we also visit the 3 Idiot School. Dinner & overnight will be
at Hotel.

Day 3: Leh- Nubra
After an early breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley, which is 125 km from Leh enroute through the world
highest motor accessible road Khardong La (18,379 ft). We reach Diskit (headquarters of Nubra valley)
by noon and check in at the hotel/camp and have hot lunch. In the evening we visit Sand dunes in
Hunder Village 7 km from Diskit Village and take a ride of Double Humped Bactrian Camels (At Own
Cost). Dinner and overnight at hotel/camp

Day 4: Nubra Leh


After breakfast visit Diskit Monastery. Later drive back to Leh from the same route crossing Khardong La
Pass. We will reach back by afternoon. After check in we have a hot lunch in the hotel. Evening is free
for leisure; you can explore the local market and try local cuisine for dinner. Dinner will be on your own
account.

Day 5: Leh Pangong Leh (149 Km)
After early breakfast drive for Pangong Lake which is 149 Km from Leh enroute through Changla Pass
which is third highest mountain motor able pass in the world. The Lake is situated at the height of 4350
meters (14270 ft) in the Changthang region of Leh district. The lake is hardly six to seven kilometer at its
widest point and over 130km long; it is bisected by the international border between India and China.
Later we drive back to Leh from the same route. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel.

Day-6: Alchi- Leh (70 Km)


After an early breakfast, drive towards east of Ladakh to visit Alchi Monastery (958-1055) Alchi is 70 Km
east of Ladakh on the Srinagar- Leh Highway (NH1) situated in the bank on Indus river, and it is said to
be oldest and most famous monastery of Ladakh after the detailed tour of the monastery. Have Lunch
in Alchi at Zimskhang Restaurant (At your own account) & later drive back the same route via Sangam
(Confluence of two RIVERS, Indus and Zanskar, Magnetic Hill (the hill that defies the gravity), Hall of
Fame (museum constructed as well as maintained by the Indian Army in the memory of the soldiers
who had lost their lives during the 1999 Indo-Pak wars and Gurduwara Pathar Sahab. Dinner will be at
local Ladakhi house in Stok Village. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 8: DEPARTURE
After early breakfast transfer to Kushok Bakula Leh airport for the return flight.
