Describe the instructional activities that will occur prior to the SRS activity and how you will
introduce the SRS activity: To begin teaching the branches of government students will be introduced by
a BrainPop video or some other video that goes along with the standard being taught. Mid-week students

Briefly describe what will happen during the SRS activity
To begin the Student response tools activity I will introduce the students to the website we will use for the
assessment. Students will need access to a computer or laptop and long in to access Socrative- an
assessment website. I will give the students a log in and they will begin the quiz once the entire class has it
set up. Students will have 30 minutes to complete the 10-question quiz.

Students will be given the quiz over the computer and once they complete the quiz they may go back and
review the questions they have missed and take note of what they have missed. Once the entire class has
finished I will review the question that most the class missed. Doing so will help students understand the
topic more and what the question is asking.

Types of questions/prompts (Check all that apply):
Multiple choice Multiple Select True/False Yes/No Short open-ended response
or fill in the blank Longer open-ended response
Provide samples of questions/prompts to be given to students: What are the three branches of
government?,Who is in charge of the Executive branch?

Right/Wrong Answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions? Yes No

Mixed (Some will have correct answers, others will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback:
Will you pre-select correct answers to some or all of the questions and display correct response to the class
after the SRS activity? Yes No
Why or why not? I think it is important for students to know what they got correct and what the correct
answer is if they got the question wrong. This will allow students to go back and review the questions for
the test at the end of the unit.
Use of data: The data collected will determine their knowledge of the three branches of government after a
week of going over the topic. It will be graded, the students will take it prior to be tested over the topic.
Yes, the students will be given access to their grade and will be able to study the questions they got
wrong/correct. Yes, I will briefly discuss to the class the class progress and what we need to do as a class to
move forward. By looking at the students answers and data I will determine if the students need review or
if we can move on to the next part of the topic.
Describe what will occur after the SRS activity: After the quiz, I will go over the quiz with the students.
Students who got all questions correct will be directed to write or have an extended response while I review
with the students who missed questions. The quiz will help me know if the students need more time to
grasp the concept or if they are ready to take the unit test. This will guide me as the teacher where my
students need the most help.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. (For example: What are you trying that you have
not tried before? What do you hope to learn from this activity? How do you hope it will help students learn?
You must design something that will help you learn something new. Honor system!) : I have never made a
quiz for a class online which is something I would definitely do in the future for my classroom because it is
easy, effective and immediate response. I hope to learn how students do on the quiz and how I as the
teacher can help them understand the concept. I hope it helps students learn that its okay not to know every
answer and that as a teacher I am always there to help them in any area they seem to struggle in.
