Nobody quite knows

Nobody really knows they think it was because of her sister in cousin that she
looked into art.

Taught by Francois Gerard and Jacques-Louis David

She was well known after she started creating her artwork and she was known
because of her husband Michel-Jean-Maximillian Villers and her attributed paintings
to other famous artists.

Portraits

She was an artist her whole life

She has styles from a lot of artists like Gerard and David

i. How the artists personality is reflected in his/her, work?


Her personality is reflected through her way of placing the people they are always
strait in their stature and they always show some type of emotion.

II. Artwork
a. Materials used? Oil on canvas

b. What subjects did your artist focus on? Portraits

c. How does this work of art make you feel? This artwork makes you feel the stare of
the women just dig at you but the light coming through the back makes her kind of
have a glow making it look like a happy scene.
d. If you were the artist, how would you went about making this artwork? What
different materials and
processes would you use? If I were the one creating these art works, I would have
added and shown texture on the paintings that you would be able to see in a picture
of it.

e. Does anything you see in this work of art remind you of something else you have
seen or experienced? I cannot remember ever seeing anything like this artwork that
I remember.

f. What is this work of art about? Is there a message that goes beyond the subject
matter?
When I look at this painting a see and artist looking at something she is trying to
draw and really focusing on the details as she looks at it. I think that many people
just see a girl sitting there with a hard stare and the light and the glow in the
background coming in from behind her. I think there is something she is staring at
and its kind of mesmerizing her and that it what is bringing the glow into the
background.

g. What is the title of this artwork? How does the artwork relate to the title? If you
could rename the artwork, what would your new title be?
Young Women Drawing, it relates because the women in the painting is actually
sitting there drawing like any other artist would be. I do not think that I would
change the title to anything else it fits the painting very well.

h. How does this work of art relate to you?


I think this artwork relates to me because I do a little bit of drawing and I can
understand how she has to sit towards a light and almost look at what she is
drawing to create what she is seeing.

Neoclassicism, born in Rome in the 18th century

It was new and it was close to the lines of other styles of art.

She could go against the old styles and show what she wanted to show with
philosophy and other things embedded.
