Assignment Context: This was an assignment given at the beginning of the year as an exit slip. Students had to analyze how the author
$
develops a character by citing craft moves. Students were required to make a claim, cite evidence, and explain the evidence.
$
$
Reflection: Student C struggles to make a strong claim that addresses the prompt. While she cites evidence, it is unclear what she is
supporting with the evidence. In the explanation of one piece of evidence, she explains that Julian is vengeful which is an accurate analysis
of the evidence. In the other explanation, she inaccurately explains that the evidence shows that Julian is remorseful.

Assignment Context: This assignment was given later in the year. Students had to analyze how the author develops a character by citing craft
$
moves. Students were required to make a claim, cite evidence, and explain the evidence.
$
$
Reflection: Student C shows growth in the development of her claim as it is clear and identifies the authors use of diction in the development of
the character. One of her two pieces of evidence supports the claim very effectively and her explanation shows an analysis of character without
an explicit connection to the claim.
