Sample & Patch Library for Omnisphere 2, EXS24, Kontakt 5, Reason and Serum

Everbody loves synth pad sounds, right?? Warm, Lush, Warm, Bright or Pure pads are one of those
sounds I dont think we will ever have enough of (thank goodness!!). Having a new library of synth pads
like this is something Ive been planning for a looooong time. When Omnisphere 2 was introduced and I
learned that I use my own samples to further individualize this library that told me that NOW was the
time to make this library!!

Now, of course every new synth that comes out has synth pad patches there are even plug-ins
dedicated to creating nothing BUT synth pads. So the world is already FULL of nice pad sounds. With
that being the case, I knew I needed to have a few extra special things going to make this a unique
library. So here is what I came up with:

These are 100% ORIGINAL PADS created by combining 1,2 or 3 different synthesizer plug-Ins and then
adding the LUSH Reverb Effects and recording all this YUMMY WARM sonic heaven into the samples. I
didnt sample old vintage analog synths (or even newer digital synths)). Using only Logic Pro and a
handful of synth and effect Plug-ins, I am very happy with these newly created sounds that (just like
MegaMagic PADS) has majestic effects and reverb recorded into the samples. Thats the MegaMagic
Part.

I made sure the samples had either unique attack elements or unique qualities to the sounds
themselves so that they are not just basic pads sounds. (Ive been making pad sounds since the Korg
M1 in 1989 and worked on pretty much every synth Korg has released since then so I a thing or two
about making pad sounds.) :D
LONG SAMPLES! Instead of a 3 second recording with a noticeable repeating loop in the sound that
sounds lifeless, these samples average over 15 seconds long with equal power crossfade loops that are
almost impossible to detect. This gives the sounds true LIFE and motion that other libraries Ive found are
missing!

I created these as to require 6 samples to make up 1 patch sound for the premiere versions of the
patches. This is a biggie. Especially for Omnisphere 2.1. AFAIK, this is the first Omnisphere 2.1 library
that uses Multi mode to play 6 samples to make up a single synthesizer Patch. By using 6 patches,
(each windowed to a narrow range of the keyboard,) I was able to make Pads that keep their beautiful
tone up high and have incredible power down in the lower registers that cant be captured with a single
sample... There are also single sample Patches for every sound in Omnisphere, but they generally will
have a very different quality and a single character of tone to them. Compare between the two and youll
clearly tell a difference!

PAD and SYNTH variations to every sound in the library. EVERY patch has a PAD version (slow attack
full length sample) and a SYNTH version (fast attack loop only sample) for twice the value for each
sound! I make sure to record a unique slow attack to over 80% of the sounds in the library while the
others are unique fast attacks which become magical when the AMP EG Attack is slowed down. So when
going thru the library, youll see SYNTH patches with a V1 and V2 in their name. The V1 is the ORIGINAL
full-length fast attack while the V2 is the Loop only version. If the patch name starts with SYNTH and
doesnt have a V1 or V2 in the name, then its a loop only sound. This way, the same library can appeal to
both PAD lovers and lovers of fast attack unique synth sounds!! More people will be even happier now!!
Woot!

Support for 5 different plug-ins! I originally intended to make this only for Omnisphere 2.1, but started to
realize it wouldnt be THAT difficult to make it work with 4 other synthesizers. I was WRONG about that
part!! IT took a LOT of work because of how I wanted to do this, but thats okay. The work is now done
and Im thrilled how this came out! With the NN-XT in Reason, EXS24, Kontakt 5, Serum AND
Omnisphere PATCH versions of the SYNTH sounds (single samples except for Reason and Kontakt 5), I
carefully tried to make the EXACT same sound. They are not 100% identical, but the character and how
you would play it is pretty close. This took A LOT of time, but again,

Steve Duda / XferRecords updated Serum just for this library! This library has over 300 samples and
Serums Noise directory could only show 256 files. Also, Serums Noise Oscillator read only loop only
samples. With version 1.07b1, Serum now can read entire samples AND their sample loop points! This is
HUGE! Serum just became a much more robust sample playback monster! So I am thrilled to be able to
have worked closely with Steve to have helped make this possible.

Finally, there is of course more to these sounds (in my humble opinion. ) A lot of life has happened to
me while making this library. Just like MegaMagic PADS, especially because of making samples instead
of just patches using someone elses samples, I feel a part of my life has become these sounds that you
now have in your possession.... The happy and the sad (and everything in-between) has found its way
into these (to me) living waveforms. I hope these sounds give you the happy and the sad and everything
in between that you are wishing to add to your musical productions!

Thank you again for your continued support. Please read the installation instructions or watch my
YouTube channel (search the pluginguru on YouTube) I will have an installation video for this library
showing you all the details and tips and tricks for each plug-in as well !! If you still have questions AFTER
reading these instructions, you can always contact me at support@pluginguru.com. Im here to help if
needed.

Thank you again for your continued support of this amazing adventure were on together!

INSTALLTION INTRODUCTION:
First of all, because this library is so big!! Over 1GB for the Omnisphere version and the WAV version
and over 700MB for the Reason version! I have made each of these 3 separate downloads. You pay one
price, and you can use this with all 5 plug-ins (Omnisphere 2.1, Serum 1.07b1, Kontakt 5.5.1,
NN-XT in Reason and EXS24 in Logic Pro and Logic Pro X). Please make sure youre
using the exact or later versions of your plug-In of choice which is listed above to make
sure you have the ability to play these sounds correctly! Especially for Omnisphere and Serum, these
libraries wont work if youre not up-to-date!!

After you have downloaded one or all 3 versions of the library, (in the not-too-distant future, you will be
able to log in and re-download any of the libraries you have purchased from me in the the past! New
website coming soon, I hope!!) un-zip the files and follow these instructions to get your desired plug-in
to play these sounds correctly.

3 of the 5 plug-ins will use THE SAME SAMPLE FOLDER NAMED MegaMagic PADS Samples.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS. You will need to Option+/Alt+ drag this folder to specific locations in
order for each plug-in to load the samples. If you dont do this, you will get an error message and no
sound from the patches! So read the details below very carefully!

INSTALLATION LOCATIONS:
Each Plug-In type has very different instructions on where to place their files. So read carefully.

I AM MAKING AN INSTALLATION VIDEO for my YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/thepluginguru)

that will show me placing these files in the right locations. So if you get stuck, please go find the video
called MM PADS WAV Installation Instruction Video and watch it!

Omnisphere 2
Make sure you have Omnisphere version 2.1 or later!

You MUST use version 2.1 of Omnisphere to load the enclosed

.omnisphere file! This file type is NOT SUPPORTED in earlier versions
of Omnisphere 2. This new .omnisphere format lets 3rd party
programmers put the Patch folder, the Multi folder and the Samples
folder in a SINGLE FILE that you simply select by using install
.omnisphere from the Utility menu and the library will be
automatically installed for you! NO MORE SEARCHING FOR YOUR
STEAM FOLDER!

Instructions for PC or Mac are the same:

Under the UTILITY button, select the new Install .omnisphere

option, navigate to the PlugInGuru MegaMagic PADS.omnisphere file and select it. It will then load all
the patches, multis and samples into the proper locations so you can immediately load up presets and
play them. You can then either store the .omnisphere file somewhere for backup, or delete it.
Omnisphere 2 doesnt look at this file after the loading process is over. Deleting it will save you over
1GB of HD space!

NOTE:

Enclosed Bonus FX presets Folder is different. While the Load .omnisphere option loads
Patches/Multis and Samples, it doesnt load any user preset files. These have to be manually placed into
a specific location in the STEAM FOLDER. You will need to manually place these folders if you want to
use them. They are NOT required for the library to work. These are presets that can quickly load up a
preset for the Envelopes, Arpeggiator or FX Racks sections of Omnisphere 1 or 2.

EXS24
With the latest version of Logic Pro X, the location of the Sampler Instruments folder is:

Macintosh HD / Users / ~ / Music / Audio Music Apps / Sampler Instruments

Once you find the Sampler Instruments folder, Open the folder named EXS24 Sampler Instruments
that is in the PlugInGuru MegaMagic PADS WAV Folder and place the folder named MegaMagic
PADS EXS24 into the Sampler Instruments folder. Now, EXS24 will search and find the MegaMagic
Pads Samples folder so this is one case where you dont HAVE to duplicate the samples folder. If you
are going to only use the EXS24 (and not Serum or Kontakt 5), then place the samples folder inside of
the MegaMagic PADS folder inside the Sampler instruments folder. Otherwise just let EXS24 do a search
when loading a patch, and it will find the samples if they are somewhere else.

If Logic Pro is running, you will have to select Refresh Menu inside of the EXS24 Plug-in. Logic reads
the EXS24 presets when it starts. So either refreshing the menu in EXS24 or totally restarting Logic Pro is
the only way to get the EXS24 to read these presets.. after youve done one of these 2 steps, the
patches will then hopefully load without any errors.
XFer Records SERUM
YO U M UST USE version 1.07b1 which becam e available Sept 16, 2015 for this
library to appear properly and for the sam ples to load correctly! Xfer Records
updated Serum so that this library could work its very best! So m ake sure youre
up-to-date or youll be sad-and-bum m ed.

There are 2 different folders - one for Patches and one for the Samples (actually SERUM calls them
Noises).

Mac Location:
Macintosh HD / Library / Audio / Presets / Xfer Records / Serum Presets

PC: Location: C:/Users/%username%/Documents/Xfer/Serum Presets/

In fact, if you go to Menu in top-right of Serum->"Show Serum Presets folder" is the easy, cross-
platform, and guaranteed way to find where your presets folder is at on your computer.

Open the PlugInGuru MegaMagic PADS WAV folder you just downloaded.

Open the MegaMagic PADS Serum folder.

Place the folder named PlugInGuru MegaMagic PADS into the Presets folder inside of the Serum
Presets Folder.

Place the folder named MegaMagic Pads Samples (make a copy of this folder if you have this samples
folder being used with another plug-in) into the Noises folder inside of the Serum Presets Folder.
Serum MUST have a copy of the samples in the Noises folder or it wont work properly.

Load a new version of Serum and the presets will show up in the patch directory.
REASON .RFL
The Reason version comes packed in a .rfl
Refill file. I used Reason 8 but I believe this
will load into pretty much any version of
Reason. If it doesnt, Ill revise this text
please let me know if it doesnt!!

The samples AND NN-XT patches are in a

single file. Accessing these couldnt be
easier. Place the MegaMagic PADS.rfl
wherever you wish to store it. Drag it to
the Left Browser of Reasons interface and
it will show up. Click it, open the
MegaMagic Pads Patches, load and
enjoy.

I will make a video with TipsnTricks for

NN-XT for my YouTube Channel. Watch
that to learn how to modify these patches!

Kontakt 5
v1.07b1 beta
Make sure youre using Kontakt version 5.5.1 or later! This version is NOT compatible
with the free Kontakt 5 player. I didnt want to pay a license fee because that would
raise the price of the library to you! So please buy the full version if you havent. Its the
most robust and supported sampler on the planet and if you work with samples, you
really should own the full version.

I decided to have my amazing Kontakt 5 Script guru programmer make a simpler interface for this
library. This cost me a lot less money and makes the library really easy to use. You have access to the key
synthesis parameters from the main interface and its easy to get under the hood and add more
complicated programming to your sounds if you wish.
There are 2 main ways to access this library either:

OPTION 1: The File tab:

With this method, you navigate to wherever you end up putting this
library. The Standard location that Native Instruments places all of their
sample libraries is in the Users / Shared folder in OS X. I have a special
Sample Library folder on an external HD where Kontakt libraries usually
go. By clicking the top Left FILE tab, just navigate to the location you
placed this library, open the MegaMagic Dreams Kontakt 5 folder and
load a patch. If you get a Resources or sample missing message, read
below for how to fix this.

OPTION 2: Quick Load:

Simply Control+Click anywhere in the Right empty

window or click the Quick button in the center
of the top panel to open Quick Load. Select
Instr and then drag-n-drop any Kontkat library of
Instruments that you want quick access to.

No more looking thru your FILES tab for your

favorite libraries.

:D
The PATCH LIST (sort of)
There are 28 PADS in this library. Because of the PAD and SYNTH and V1 and V2 variations, there are 56

ALL of the 5 Plug-Ins contain this CORE Patches / Sample sets. Some had additional patches while the
Omnisphere 2.1 version is just NUTS. It has additional BONUS patches I commissioned Airwave and Kid
Anthem to create. You will just have to dig into the end of the patch list to find these They all start with
a z at the beginning of the name so that they are grouped at the end of the list. These are a really
FUN mix of different patches for lots of different musical styles.

I plan to make a follow up library later this year for these samples. I only got a chance to work a fraction
of the time I want to work with these samples.. so yea, look out!!
Comments about specific Plug-Ins

SERUM
The Serum Version sounds AWESOME but like Omnisphere can only access 1 sample at a time.
Omnisphere has a MultiMode to layer 6 samples Serum does not so you can only play a single sample
at a time. Still it is the most aggressive sounding version. By placing the entire MegaMagic Pads
Samples folder in the noises folder, you have access to 328 samples! I selected the best whole range
version of the 6 samples. You can select one of the other 5 samples to get a whole bunch of different
tonalities out of Serum. Use the Noise Transpose to shift the sounds up or down in range if needed
because Serum doesnt read sample root note assignments.

ABOUT SERUM and tuning!

Serums Noise Oscillator assumes you are using 44.1Khz samples to create a sample that is in tune with
the built-in oscillators. Im using 48Khz samples. So the samples are out of tune until you set the fine
tune on the global page to approx.. -56 and shift the sample down 2 semitones. I talked to XferRecords
and there is no easy fast way to fix this situation. So it is what it is. Luckily the Fine Tune setting is saved
per patch.

Preferences
SERUM has a preference page in GLOBAL. I STRONGLY suggest turning off the Limit Polyphony to one
of any note number and turning ON the Double-Click for Typable values on controls. By clicking
these, the small disc icon to the left of the word Preferences will light up. Click it to write these to
memory so that they are remembered whenever you call up Serum!

All the other Plug-Ins have a few unique traits to them. I will cover these in a video so please check out
my YouTube video channel search for the pluginguru on YouTube to find me. I have a number of
FREE support videos for this library one is up already showing how I mixed and used these sounds for
my demo song Triumphant. Please watch, enjoy and learn!

Lots of heart and soul went into these sounds. Easily my most personal sound library Ive ever created.
Some heavy real-life things are happening and were happening while making this library and as an artist,
I poured my joy, pain, sadness and everything else into this work. These sounds are special. They have
been very good friends to me. I hope they become very good friends to you and your musical endevors.

Enjoy and thank you thank you to each of you for your continued support !
