Description of how to implement in the class:
To begin, each student will be assigned a different historical figure to create a timeline. The students
will then begin research on the person they have been assigned. The student will need to look up
information on where they were born, multiple events in the lives of the individual that expanded
peoples rights and freedom in democracy, and provide pictures. The student should include at least 10
events. Once the students complete the task they will be able to print it out and store it in their social
studies notebook.
This timeline can be used as a study resource. The students will have a graphic organizer to fill in the
information for the other historical figures as they are discussed in class. This learning activity will help
students properly organize events in time in sequential order. Using critical thinking skills the students
will be able to properly execute this assignment.
