Remove the speed sensors for the main shaft and the countershaft.

Remove the cable ties from the attaching plate for the electrical wiring.

Turn the control housing so that it stands on the selector forks and remove the bolts for the upper cover (6 pcs
M8 x 30).

Turn the control housing so that its front edge (split fork side) lays against the bench.

Loosen the upper edge of the cover and bend it carefully down towards the bench. Remove the electrical
connector.

Remove the screws for the electrical cabling (Allen screw) and remove the electrical cabling.

Fit the O-ring on the cabling (grease the O-ring to facilitate fitting).

Fit the new electrical cable harness.

Note: The cabling should be routed away from the split cylinder.
Use Volvo-approved locking fluid on the new screws.

Fit new seals to the solenoid valves, O-ring onto the countershaft brake and a gasket on the cover.

Connect the electrical cabling to the cover.

Note: Take care not to damage the cabling. The front edge of the control housing should lay against the bench (split fork side) and
fit the cover.

Turn the control housing so that it stands on the selector forks. Fit new bolts to the cover (6 pcs M8 x 30,
included in the repair kit) and torque tighten them.

Specifications:
24 4 Nm

Turn the control housing so that it lays with the upper cover against the bench. Connect the electrical cabling
to the position sensors (4 pcs).

Note: The electrical cabling must lie inside the lug on the range cylinder.

Fit the tachometer sensors and torque tighten the bolts.

Clamp the cabling to the attaching plate.

When the control housing/upper cover have been removed from the gearbox, a calibration must be performed
after refitting in the vehicle.
