One Hour Technology Workshop Lesson Plan

Title: USA Test Prep Workshop

Subject: Instructional Technology

Participants: 3 Algebra 2 PLC Group

Essential Question: How can I more effectively prepare students for digitalized high stakes assessments?

Learning Objective: At the end of this workshop, you will be able to create classes and assignments in
USA Test Prep.

Workshop Procedure:

1. Prior to the workshop, have participants complete the Pre-Workshop Assessment survey.
2. Pass out the USA Test Prep Tutorial 1 Create an Account Handout.
3. Begin USA Test Prep Workshop PowerPoint Presentation and help teachers set up their account.
4. Pass out the USA Test Prep Tutorial 2 Creating Classes Handout.
5. Introduce participants to the basic features of USA Test Prep.
6. Pass out the USA Test Prep Tutorial 3 Creating Assignments & Benchmarks Handout.
7. Show video in USA Test Prep Workshop PowerPoint slide.
a. Walk around and help participants as they watch the video.
8. Demonstrate how to create and assign a benchmark.
9. Show participants the assignments that I have created and shared with them on USA Test Prep.
10. Demonstrate how I use student data to differentiate and drive instruction.
11. Walk around and help participants as they explore USA Test Prep.
12. Have participants take the USA Test Prep Workshop Evaluation survey.

Evaluation/Assessment:

Formal Assessments: Participants will take pre and post workshop surveys

Informal Assessment: The instructor will assess the participants as they complete the workshop and
differentiate instruction as needed.

Follow up: The 3 Algebra 2 PLC team will be completing a USA Test Prep project with their students.
This will allow the instructor to continue to work with the participants and provide further assistance as
needed.
